Subject: Water supply capability for fighting a fire at the
proposed Dunn Lumber Warehouse
This report sussaerises the water supply capstility for fighting a fire
(fire flow) at the proposed Dunn Lumber Warehouse near Factory Street
and Bronson Way. A fire flow requirement of 3500 gpm was specified
at the two planned hydrants on the 12 inch diameter pipeline which
parallels the railroad tracks. The computed residual pressure during
1 this fire flow condition was 56 psi at both hydrants. -,his fire flow
capability was computed using the criteria stated here.
SYSTEM J2NALYSIS CRITERIA

System analysis criteria were developed using the Insurance Services
Office (ISO) guidelines. A summary of the criteria is listed here:
n the demand condition used was the average rate of
the 1974 maximum day demand with a fire at pre-
determined locations.
o Yells 1, 2 and 3 were operating while Well 8
(larf,est source) was out of service
n Springbrook Springs was supplying the system
at 1300 gpm
Talbot Hill pump station was operating at
1500 gpm
