Unless otherwise noted, the following happened within the City Limits of Renton, County of
King, State of Washington.
On 10/22/25 at approximately 1835 hours I took a hit and run report by phone from the vict m,
Suresh K. Chahal(12/06/83). Suresh told me that a white 2007 GMC Sierra WA/ D94374G had
merged into his 2025 Toyota Corolla WA/CRK6717 in the 2800 block of NE Sunset Blvd.
Suresh told me he was driving south on NE Sunset Blvd approaching NE 10th St. He was in lane
2.The Sierra was in the center turn lane facing the same direction. He Sierra did not use a turn
signal, and suddenly merged into Suresh's lane.The Sierra struck Suresh's Corolla on the front
driver side of the bumper. The Sierra was struck on the passenger side behind the front
passenger door. Suresh braked and the Sierra pulled in front of him in lane 2.The light at NE 10th
St was red for southbound traffic. Suresh honked at the other driver to see if they would stop.
The light then turned green and the Sierra turned left (east) on NE 10th St. Suresh assumed they
were just pulling off of Sunset to not be on a main road to exchange information.The Sierra
never stopped and continued east, even though Suresh honked again and waved for them to
stop. Suresh then pulled over and called 911.
The driver of the GMC Sierra is the proximate cause of this accident. Suresh had thE right of w,
in lane 2 and the Sierra never signaled to merge into his lane. After striking Suresh's Corolla, the
driver of the Sierra did not attempt to stop and exchange information before leaving the scene of
the accident.
If the driver of the Sierra can be identified there is probable cause for RCW 46.52.020
Duty on striking attended car or other property for striking Suresh's vehicle and then leaving
without exchanging information.
