NARRATIVE
25-9170
Unless otherwise noted, the following happened within the City Limits of Renton, County of King,
State of Washington.
On 10/22/25 at approximately 2222 hours I arrived on scene of a 2 car collision in the 300 block of
Sunset Blvd N. Unit#1 was in the center turn lane facing south with its side airbags deployed. Unit#2
was in the parking lot of Sunset Bistro 354 Sunset Blvd N.
The driver of Unit#1 told me he was attempting to turn south on Sunset Blvd N from the Sunset Bistro
parking lot. He had his turn signal on and said he looked both directions and saw no other cars on the
road. He pulled out and before he reached the center turn lane felt something slam into his car. He
did not ever see the other vehicle. He did specifically mentioned he did not see any headlights from
either direction before he pulled out. The side airbags on both sides of Unit#1 were deployed but the
driver was uninjured. Unit#1 was undriveable and towed away by Banker's Towing.
The driver of Unit#2 told me he was in lane 2 on Sunset Blvd N and was traveling north. He
said Unit#1 pulled out in front of him very fast and he did not have time to stop. Unit#2 then struck
Unit#1 while it was perpendicular to Sunset Blvd N on the driver side. The driver of Unit#2 and his
passenger were uninjured. Unit#2 had heavy front end damage but was able to drive away from the
scene. The driver of Unit#2 told me he had been in an accident a few days ago. He pointed to the
area near his driver side headlight and said that damage was old. The rest of the damage to the front
of the vehicle was from tonight. The driver of Unit#2 did not have any auto insurance.
After speaking to both drivers I believe Unit#1 was the proximate cause of this collision. Unit
#1 did not yield the right of way to traffic on Sunset Blvd N before turning. 1 cannot confirm whether or
not Unit#2 had his headlights on however it is still the responsibility of Unit#1 to make sure the road
is clear before turning. The driver of Unit#2 was citied for not having auto insurance.
