Door(s) Rear Collision 2025-00008967 Paqe 3 OF 5 Case Number 2025-00008967 Officer Narrative Narrative 25-8967 On November 4, 2025, at 1456 hours, dispatch requested that I respond to a collision that occurred at 211 Morris Ave S, in the city of Renton, County of King, and State of Washington. Upon my arrival I spoke with the driver of Unit#1, identified as Linda M. Mills. Linda explained she was operating a school and was attempting to make a left turn from S 2nd St to Morris Ave S. While preparing for her turn, she believed she had turned on her yellow flashers but failed to notice which dash "button" she had pressed. Linda said she accidentally opened her front school bus arm. While turning left,the front arm scratched Unit#2 and Unit#3 which were unoccupied and parked along the sidewalk facing south. Unit#1 sustained no damage, but Unit#2 and Unit#3 sustained minor damage to its driver's doors. I was unable to contact the owner of Unit#3, but I did contact the owner of Unit#2. 1 spoke with Rebecca Alder and provided her with my contact information and case number. Contact and case information was left on the windshield of Unit#3. Linda was not paying attention. She violated Renton Municipal Code (RMC) 10-12-25—Inattentive Driving which is defined as any person to drive a motor vehicle on any public highway, street, alley, or road in an inattentive manner in the City of Renton. "Inattentive manner" in this section means a lack of: 1) attentiveness required to safely operate the vehicle under the prevailing conditions, including, but not limited to,the nature and condition of the roadway,the weather conditions,the presence of pedestrians,the presence of other traffic, or by the driver focusing or directing the driver's attention to something other than driving the motor vehicle; or 2) attentiveness that would permit the driver of a motor vehicle to observe anything resting on, or traveling on, or entering the roadway in time to take appropriate action as circumstances require. (Ord.4462, 7-25-94, eff. retroactive to 7-1-94; Ord. 5635, 11-14-11). Based on the driver's statements, I determined that the Driver of Unit#1 (Linda) is the proximate cause for the collision due to inattention causing a collision. I issued Linda a Sector infraction and sent it to the Renton city prosecutor for further review.
