The following occurred in the City of Renton, King County, Washington unless otherwise stated.
During this incident 1 was equipped with body-worn camera which records both audio and video.
Portions of the incident were recorded. This report is merely a summary of the incident and is not
intended to be an exact transcription of the entire investigation or what may have been captured
with the recording system. During this incident I was wearing a department issued uniform or jump
suit and outer carrier vest which was marked with "Police"both on the front, back, and
department patches on each shoulder of the uniform or jumpsuit, as well as a Renton Police Velcro
badge on my►eft chest. It would be immediately obvious to any reasonable person that I was a
Police Officer.
On 11/4/2025 at 0929 hours I was dispatched to a hit and run collision that occurred just north of the
intersection of N 3rd St and Burnett Ave N.
The reporting person, identified as Nicholas J. Runje (DOB: 09/30/2000) stated that he heard a loud
crashing sound and went outside to investigate. There, Runje stated that he saw a white or Hispanic
male trying to fix the front bumper of his 2014 Toyota Camry (WA LP: BCZ8304). Runje saw that the
Camry had just struck a parked 2020 Nissan Sentra (WA LP: BVA5197) that was parked on the East
side of the street.
Runje stated that the male reentered his vehicle and performed a u-turn to proceed South on
Burnett Ave N and fled the area.
A coworker of Runje, identified as Steven R. Thomson (DOB: 10/05/1985), provided a further
description of the suspect identifying him as a white or Hispanic male, 5'9-10", heavy build, short
facial hair, black hair, dark jacket, lighter jeans, and salt and pepper side burns. Thomson stated that
he would be able to identify the suspect if he saw him again.
Based on the description given, I determined there was reasonable suspicion that the suspect in this
case is the registered owner, who is identified as Bernardo R. Mendoza Baltodano (DOB:

unable to identify the suspect in this case.
At this time, the suspects identity is unknown.
I contacted the owner of the Nissan, identified as Luis Vazquez Hernandez (DOB: 09/07/1998), and
informed him of the incident via phone.
