On 11-15-2025 at approximately 1434 hours, I was stopped for traffic facing NB on 156th AVE SE
at SE 142nd PL, in the City of Renton, County of King.
I saw Unit 1 vehicle license CSF5262 driving NB on 156th AVE SE crossing SE 142nd PL, it was
raining, and the roads were wet. Unit 1 was driving too fast for conditions and failed to negotiate
the curve in the roadway. Unit 1 drove up over the curb and ran over the speed limit sign causing
it to break off at its base. Unit 1 had minor damage to the front of the vehicle from the sign and
both passenger side tires were flat rendering it inoperable. I called for a tow. I informed the
owner of the vehicle a two truck was enroute and he was responsible for the fees and location
he preferred it to be towed to.
The passenger explained his wife is the owner of the car and was driving with her learner's
permit. They had two children in the back seat. There were no injuries, and the damage
appeared to be unreportable. The car was recently purchased, and they did not have insurance.
I did not issue citations for the violations.
