NARRATIVE
Unless otherwise noted, all events took place in the City of Renton, in the County of King, in the State
of Washington.
This incident was captured on my body worn video camera and in-car cameras. This report is a
summary of events that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events.
On 11/10/2025, at approximately 0109 hours 1 was dispatched to a report of a collision at the
intersection of Rainier Ave S and S 3rd St. Dispatch advised 2 car collision, unknown injuries. Group
of subjects seen chasing each other southbound on Rainier Ave S.
At approximately 0111 hours 1 arrived on scene. The vehicles were west of Rainier Ave S, on SW
Sunset Blvd. I observed Unit 1 in the middle of the street and up against a sign pole with heavy front-
end damage. Unit 2 was in the eastbound lanes facing the wrong direction with heavy rear end
damage. All involved parties were out of the vehicle. Unit 1 had one occupant and Unit 2 had
occupants. Renton Fire responded and evaluated all parties involved.
The driver of Unit 1 relayed the following information. He was parked in the Fred Meyer parking lot
sleeping in his car when the occupants of Unit 2 pulled up to his car and threw eggs at his car. He
ignored it at first but then Unit 2 returned and began driving around his car. He began to chase Unit 2
around the parking lot. They exited the parking lot onto SW Sunset Blvd heading eastbound towards
Rainier Ave S. Unit 2 stopped and began to reverse causing him to strike the rear bumper of Unit 2
with his front bumper. The driver of Unit 1 was bleeding from his face. Renton Fire came and
evaluated him and then transported him to Valley Medical Center. Unit 1 airbags deployed and the
vehicle had to be towed.
I spoke to the driver of Unit 2 and he relayed the following information. Him and his friend were
driving in the parking lot of Fred Meyer when they saw Unit 1 parked. They threw eggs at the Unit 1
and then Unit 1 began to chase them around the parking lot. They were attempting to exit the parking
lot directly west of KeyBank onto SW Sunset Blvd. As they were exiting the parking lot, Unit 1 struck
the rear bumper of Unit 2 causing Unit 2 to spin out in the road of SW Sunset Blvd. Unit 1 bounced off
Unit 2 and continued into the sign pole between the east and west bound lanes of SW Sunset Blvd.
Unit 2 airbags did not deploy but the vehicle had to be towed. The driver of Unit 2 stated he was not
injured.
I spoke with the passenger of Unit 2 and he stated the following. He was in the back seat of Unit 2.
He threw eggs at Unit 1 which was parked in the Fred Meyer parking lot. Unit 1 began chasing them
around the parking lot. He remembers Unit 2 getting hit from behind but could not recall where it
happened. He stated he was not injured.
