PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Vision House Phase IV Children's Village project is located on a lot without an address off of Bremerton Avenue NE. The property is identified by tax parcel
number 102305-9086 and is approximately 53,578 square feet (1.23 acres) in size. The adjacent parcel to the west at 450 Bremerton Ave NE, Renton, WA 98059
is under the same ownership and represents previous phases of work. This proposed project would complete the work on this site. As a non-profit service
provider, Vision House is a program with transitional housing that helps break the cycle of homelessness for families with children.
The site currently slopes from a highpoint on the northwest side to a low point on the southeast side which leads to a wetland area offsite. There is an existing
playground on the north portion of the site which will remain intact. The intent for the new building is to respect the current building context and complete the
campus of buildings so that they all work together to achieve the Vision House mission.
The Vision House Phase IV project proposes the construction of a multi-family building with partially below grade parking, then a mixture of daycare, office, and
program space for Vision House on the first floor and 28 residential units on the second and third floors. Residential units will range from 800 SF to 1,050 SF.
Additional parking is also proposed on the exterior of the building along the western side of the building and the eastern property line. Access to the parking
garage is proposed on the eastern side of the building with a 5-foot sidewalk proposed around the building.
Architecturally, the new building will maintain continuity with the existing buildings using complementary forms and materials while introducing refined,
contemporary details that elevate the overall character of the site. Gabled rooflines break up the building massing and echo the surrounding structures, creating a
visual cohesion and reducing the perceived scale of the buildings. Strategic material and color variations further articulate the facades, adding rhythm and
richness to the site.
