Chair Erica Richey called the meeting to order at 5:3Q p.m.

Peter said the Library canstruction is moving along nicely. He said the Highlands Library has
wark happ�ning on large forms now and #he walls will be poured tamorrow.
ferry discussed the upcoming apening celebrations ancf the roles and responsibilities of the
Baard. Information wili be a��ertised in the brochures and on the City website and updates
will be pro�ided to the Board as a�ailable. Most likely there will be meetings to discuss the
agenda and plan5 for the opening celebrations.
The board said they app�eciate the constructian updates tha# are provided weekly on the
Liberty Park l.ibrary and wondering if the same is a�ailable for the Mighlands Library. Diane
will look into this.

VII. KtLS REPORT/JOHN SHELLER
John Sheller presented a draft copy of the 2015 KCLS summer programs for the Renton area.
We 5aid that nat everyt�ing was listed on the draft but the staff is working hard ta find
locations for some of the acti�i#ies. He said the United Way is roordinating summer lunch
sites. He rn�ntioned the City's WhaYs Happening brachure will be out soon and includes two
pages of their upcaming programs and activities.
John provided a brief update an the Cammunity Discovery and said they are progressing well,
driving around ta talk to peflple in th� community and take what they find and figure out how
to#ranslate#he intormation into programs. He said there are a lat af programs in the library
but not as much in the communities so they wifl be looking into this. He said talking ta people
gets them the real data needed to wo�k out some on some of the opportuniti�s available to
different communities.
VIII. O!D BUSINESS
The topic of 2015 Goals/Objectives was discussed. Also, board briefly talked about the Board
opening.
IX. NEW BUSINE55—Lvnr�e Kin�
The board toured the new Fairwoad Library.

This cat walk allows secure ac��ss ta building over the riv�r. Windows are

To leave voids in the walis for doors and windows,frames are installed tight ta the inside
ancf outside wall forms. The concrete will flow araund them and leave openings after the
concrete sets and the forms are removed.
