An Environmental Im Pacl Slalement (EIS) must be prepared for all proposals with probably significant adverse impacts on the quality of the environment. The purpose of Ibis checklist is I provide information to help you and the agency idenlify impacts from your proposal (and to reduce or avoid impacts from the proposal, if it can be done) and to help the agency decide whether an EIS is required, Instructions for Aooli nl ; This environmenlal checklist ask you to describe some basic Information about your proposal. Governmental agencies use this checklist to delennine whether the environmenlal impacts of your proposal are si ptnificanl, requiring preparation of air EIS. Answer the questions briefly, wilh the most precise \afoenialidn known, or give the best description you can. l'ou must answer-each question accurately and carefully, to the best of your knowledge. In most cases, you should be able to answer the questions real your own observahons or project plans without the need 10 hire cxperls. If you really do not know the answer, or if a question does not apply to your proposal, write "do not know" or "does not apply". Complete answers to the questions now may avoid uolif'essary delays later. Some questions ask about governmental regulations, such .s zoning, shoreline, and landmark designations. Answer these questions if you can. if you have problems, the governmental agencies can assist you. The checklist questions apply to all parts of your proposal, even if you plan to do them crier a period of time or on different parcels of land. Attach any additional information that wilt help describe your proposal or its environmenlal effects. The agency to which you submit this checklist may ask you to explain your answers or provide additional Information reasonably related to determining if there may be significant adverse impacts. Use of Qiecklisl for Nouuro iecl Prpuosals: (Please Type or Print Legibly) Complete this checklist for nonprojecl proposals, even though questions may be answered "does 1101 apply". IN ADDITION, conplelc the SUPPLEMENT,vL SHEET FOR NONPROJECT ACTIONS (part D). For nonprojecl actions (actions involving decisions on policies, plans and programs), the references in the checklist to the words "project," "applicant;' and "property or site" should be read as "proposal," "proposer," and "affected geographic area," respectively. Since the creation of the new 320 high pressure mane in north Renton, it has come to our attention that the north end of the loop is very weak, and should something happened to the sixteen-inch water line that feeds the southern part of the v,ie,the zone could only be fed with a six-inch water line. We have been talking about the pr.sibility of Maintenance Division replacing the min, but due to a steep rise in the cost of pipe as of the first of the year, I now find the cost beyond my budget. The total cost of the pipe is around $22,000 and 1 am asking if you could help in the purchasing of 50% of the pipe. Your help in sharing the cost with us would allow me to complete this yob and install the 300 feet of rix- inch pipe on Hardie Av NW. The pipe on Hardie is now leaking very badly and needs our immediate attention. Please give me a call(x2626)if you have any questions or comments reg.rding this matter. SEE T45 a oa © n 50 - 6 CITY OF RENTON ENVIRONMENTAL CHECKLIST Purpose of Checklist: The State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA), Chapter 43.21C RCW, requires all governmental agencies to consider the environmental impacts of a proposal before making decisions. An Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) must be prepared for all proposals with probably significant adverse impacts on the quality of the environment. The purpose of this checklist is to provide information to help you and the agency identify impacts from your proposal(and to reduce or avoid impacts from the proposal, if it can be done) and to help the agency decide whether an EIS is required. Instructions for ADDlicsnts: This environmental checklist ask you to describe some basic information about your proposal. Govemmental agencies use th.s checklist to determine whether the environmental impacts of your proposal are significant, requiring preparation of an EIS. Answer the questions briefly, with the most precise information known, or give the best description you can. You must answer each question accurately and carefully.. to the best of your knowledge. In most cases, you should be able to answer the questions from your own observations or project plans without the need to hire experts. If you really do not know the answer, or if a question does not apply to your proposal, write "do not know" or"does not apply". Complete answers to the questions now may avoid unnecessary delays later. Some questions ask about governmental regulations, such as zoning, shoreline, and landmark designations. Answer these questions if you can. If you have problems, the governmental agencies can assist you. The checklist questions apply to all parts of your proposal, even if you plan to do them over a period of time or on different parcels of land. Attach any additional information that will help describe your proposal or its environmental effects. The agency to which you submit this checklist may ask you to explain your answers or provide additional information reasonably related to determining if there may be significant adverse impacts. Use of Checklist for Nonnr, iect Proposals: (Please Type or Print Legibly) Complete this checklist for nonproject proposals, even though questions may be answered "does not apply". IN ADDITION, complete the SUPPLEMENTAL SHEET FOR NONPROJECT ACTIONS(part D). For nonproject actions (actions involving decisions on policies, plans and programs), the references in the checklist to the words "project," "applicant," and "property or site" should be read as"proposal,"proposer,"and"affected geographic area,"respectively. Dear.Mr.Erickson, The Water Utility Deparlmeve is focusing its immediate attention to a leaking G iucS watermain currently servicing all residential property along the proposed project site. The current siring requirement for replacement is an 8 inch minimum diameter watermain. The Water Utility is proposing a larger 12 inch main be installed due to the eventual in-reared 12 inch main as recommended in the 1990 Water Comprehensive Plan along the project site. This would eliminate the need to repeat an upsiAng in the main in compliaare with the comprehensive plan at some future time. 1 believe this would be a far greater cost effective solution to the City. The actual project site is beyond 200 feet of any shore line and shall be constructed on public right-of-way off of the west shoulder of the paved road. During construction daylight hours, one lane(west side)shall be partitioned off ataf shall require traffic control during w- ing construction hours as required by traffic engineering scale. This project is estimated to take City forces approximately two weeks to complete. Your consideration for this proposal is.utlicipated and if you need further information please call me at 227-6208.
