Dear Mr. Cutter:
We have prepared, and are enclosing to you, a copy of Ordinance No. 3882 establishing
our Special Utility Connection Charge.
The only properties exempted from the Special Utility Connection Chartres are City-
, owned properties. (Ordinance No. 7882, tinge 6, K A M as highlighted in yellow,)
The Special Utility Connection Charge was triggered against the Post Office site as a
result of the installation of the 6 in, fire service line, Including detector check meter
and vault, required to provide adequate fire protection, (Ordinance No. 7882,
Palle 2, l,)
Before a construction permit can be issued to install the fire line for the Port Office
Site, the City must have:
1. An approved design plan, on mylar, signed by City Officials,
2. A 15 ft. wide utility easement covering the fire line and deteaot check vault (DC
vault)started by authorised agents of the United States Postal Service. (This can be
delayed if necessary, but must be supplied prior to final acceptance.)
A. The fire service meter application to set up an account for billing purposes which
must be signed, again, by authorized agents of the United States Postal Service.
i, A performance bond covering the cost of the Contractor's work in the street right-
of-way,

The Special Utility Connection fee of f.ua per sgll, of the site was calculated on 38,824
sq•ft. for Lots 3 thru 9 inclusive Block 21, Plat of Town of Renton.
The water inspection fee wes calculated at 2%of the cost of construction of the fire
service in the amount of$22,996.00. Your contractor, Modern Sewer, supplied the cost
data for -he job.
Upon completion of construction of the fire line, it is the responsibility of your agency
to have an as-built plan prepared together with a Bill-of-Sole transferring the
watermain, up to cite vault, over to the City of Renton for ownership, operation, ad
maintenance. If, upon recoiPt and review or the as-built plans, the fire main Is not
covered by she easement, the easement shall be revised and corrected to cover the pipe
by approximately 7.5 ft. on either side of the pipe and vault.
Also enclosed please find a copy of the Renton Municipal Code Section 3-2e3 ant a
copy of the"Conditions and Standards for Constructing Utility Developer Extensit, s to
the City Water System' which speaks to the As-built plan and easement requirements,
