CITY OF RENTON PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT Earl Clymer, Mayor Design/Utility Engineering MEMORANDUM DATE: August 16, 1988 TO: FILE W-974 FROM: Ron Olsen, Utility Engineer SUBJECT: Fire Protection Main for Maplewood Golf Course Club Clouse and Maintenance Facilities In an effort to expedite the installation of fire protection to the aforementioned facility, as directed by Council, the Utility Engineering Division intends to have this water main installation allocated by change order to an existing contract with a utility contractor. Two written bids were received August 12, 1988, and they were as follows: I. Burt Robison in the amount of $45,761.35 ♦ S3,706.67 (tan) for a total of S49,468 02. 2. Grant Construction in the amount of $36,729.50 ♦ S2,975.09 (tax) for a total of S39,104.59. This procedure was discussed with City Attorney Larry Warren on Friday, August 12, 1988. With his concurrence, this Utility is proceeding to prepare a change order for Grant Construction, Contract S-442, CAG 007-87, in the amount of $39,704.59 for this installation of the fire protection for the Maplewood Golf Course Club House and Maintenance Facilities. _ _ Ron Olsen dl/W974fire/drt:jlm CC: Richard C.
