Puget Power noted that the underground power line will be rerouted and asked far clarification on how far the water line had to be separated. It was noted that there is a preferred 10 ft. separation. FIRE PREVENTION 1. Maintain access to site at all times. Must be able to support emergency equipment in all types of weather. 2. All new hydrants shall be Cory type-hydrants to be painted international yellow. Iowa and Renselear are manufactures of Cory type. 3. Now hydrants are to be covered with burlap bags until operational. 4. All blocking must be inspected by a City inspector prior to backfill. 5. Leads that exceed 50 ft. in length shall be 8 inches. 6. Call 911 if the watermain needs to be shut off. 7. Second hydrant off South 23rd must be installed before occupancy. The existing hydrant to be abandoned must stay in service until the new hydrant is installed. Must have two hydrants in service in order to meet the fire flow requiramerts so that 1000 gpm continues to be available. Refer to City supplemental specifications for installation of fire hydrants. 8. No on-site fuel or combustible materials to be stored on-site. WATER 1. Eastlake is the utility contractor. 2. Pipe materials, valves, fittings shall be a.s indicated in the standard notes. 3. The contractor will install all of the watermain except the connection. All connections to existing mains to be accomplished by the City of Renton. All necessary excavation, shoring and materials to be supplied by the contractor and be on-site prior to city notifications. 4. All blocki:g must be inspected before backfilling. Thrust blocks must be formed. Concrete must be delivered to the job (no on-site mixes) . In the street and in all crossings the City requires 5/8" minus rock backfill. Compaction test may be required. Pre-Con Minutes Talbot School Page 4 7. City may request that the line be lamped. John Stein makes this decision based on the inspector's determination ec to whether or not there is a problem. 8. Use watertight or heatshrunk couplings on all ADS N12 pi; zs. 9. Temporary erosion control plans were previously approved for this project. Approved plans should be attached to each set of plans. Keep a set in the field. Inspectors will expect these plane to be used. 10. Keep dirt out of line as much as possible. Lines and catch basins must be cleaned out at the end of the job. TRANSPORTATION 1. Uniform manual shall be followed for street closures, routing for traffic. A blank copy of traffic control plan was provided to the contractor. The traffic control plan should be completed and submitted to Phil Chase for approval prior to work in City right of way. 2. Piving - the minimum compaction shall be 95% of maximum relative uensity on subgrade and rock surfaces. 3. All backfill to be 5/8" minus crush rock compacted to surface. GENERAL 1. CALL FOR AN INSPECTION BEFORE YOU START WORK. 2. Start date - the day after the permit issued. Issues regarding development fees and easement legals must be resolved prior to permit issuance. 3. Project hours for construction on-site are 7AM to 8PM weekdays, Saturday by approval only, and no Sundays, construction hours for wort. in City right of way are 8AM to 3:30PM weekdays, Saturday by approval only, and no Sundays. 24 hours notice to work in right of way. Make the 911 call within the city limits or you will get the County rather than the City dispatcher. 4. Overtime work requires special authorization. Pay schedules is $50 per hour for overtime for the City inspector. 5. Submittals to the City needed for change orders. 6. Keep the streets clean and haul legal loads. 7. In response to contractor inquiry, certain improvements may be deferred past building occupancy via approval of the Renton Board of Public Works. A 150E deferral bond will be required if application is approved. Pre-Con Minutes Talbot School Page 3 5. Procedure for cleaning: Pipe cleaning shall be by poly pigging through vertical crosses. All services shall be pressure tested to a minimum of 200 psi or 150 psi over operating pressure (static) . Chlorinate for 24 hours, using liquid chlorine and chlorine pump assembly. Flushing shall be drained into the sanitary. Water purity tests are taken to the laboratory on Wednesday. Contractor shall arrange courier for any other day. 6. Fina7 acceptance shall be after final walk through inspection, adjustment of all structures and approval of as-builts, cost data inventory, and bill of sale. 7. The contractor, as well as the engineer, shall keep as-built drawings. All changes shall be shown tin as-builts. For any field changes, if minor, give City a shop drawing (by FAX - 235-2541) ; if major, need a day or two to review and approve. Field inspector can not give approval in field for construction changes. 8. No deposit for chlorine pump required now. Call the City and a crew will bring the chlorine -3ump and chlorine to the site. 9. Waterline design revisions will be treated as change orders and reviewed as quickly as possible. SANITARY SEWER 1. All pipes and materials shall be per approved plan. 2. Pipe bedding for PVC pipe shall be pea gravel 6 inches above and below the pipe. 3. Select backfill shall be compacted to at least 95% of maximum density. 4. Offset the side sewer connection into the manhole. It must not be directly into the ladder. 5. Contractor will be responsible for TV the a inch sanitary line. STORM 1. Good erosion control measures are to be exercised at all times. 2. All pipes and materials shall be per approved plan. 3. Contractor must notify engineer of any vertical conflict prior to proceeding with construction. Submit a shop drawing for review. 4. FIRE _PREVENTION 1. Maintain access to site at all times. Must be able to support emergency equipment in all types of weather. 2. All new hydrants shall be Cory type-hydrants to be painted international yellow. Iowa and Renselear are manufactures of Cory type. 3. New hydrants are to be covered with burlap bags until operational. 4. All blocking must be inspected by a City inspector prior to backfill. j( 5. Leads that exceed 50 ft. in length shall be 8 inches. { 6. Call 911 if the watermain needs to be shut off. 7. Second hydrant off South 23rd must be installed before occupancy. The existing hydrant to be abandoned must stay in service until the new { hydrant is installed. Must have `wo hydrants in service in order to ¢ meet the fire flow requirements so that 1000 gpm continues to be available. Refer to City supplemental specifications for installation of fire hydrants. 8. No on-site fuel or combustible materials to be stored on-site. WATER 1. Eastlake is the utility contractor. 2. Pipe materials, valves, fittings shall be as indicated in the standard notes. 3. The contractor will install all of the watermain except the connection. All connections to existing mains to be accomplished by the City of Renton. All necessary excavation, shoring and materials to be supplied by the contractor and be on-site prior to City notifications. 4. All blocking must be inspected before backfilling. Thrust blocks must be formed. Concrete must be delivered to the ;ob (no on-site mixes) . In the st:eet and in all crossings the City requires 5/8" minus rock backfill. John Stein makes this decision based on the inspector's determination as to whether or riot there is a problem. S. Use watertight or heatshrunk couplings on all ADS N12 pipes. 9. Temporary erosion control plans were previously approved for this project. Approved plans should be attached to each set of plans. Keep a set in the field. Inspectors will expect these plans to be used. 10. Keep dirt out of line as much as possible. Lines and catch basins must be cleaned out at the end of the job. TRANSPORTATION 1. Uniform manual shall be followed for street closures, routing for traffic. A blank copy of traffic control plan was provided to the contractor. The traffic control plan should be completed and submitted to Phil Chase for approvel prior to work in City right of way. 2. Paving - the minimum compaction shall be 95% of maximum '_ative density on subgrade and rock surs :es. 3. All backfill to be 5/8" minus crush rock compacted to surface. GENERAL 1.
