Iowa and Renselear are manufacturers of Cory type. 3. New hydrants are to be covered with burlap bags until operational. 4. All blocking must be inspected by a City inspector prior to backfill. 5. Leads that exceed 50 feet in length shall be 8". 6. Call 911 if the watermain needs to be shut off (emergency only!). All other water main or valves shut down, call Renton Water Department at 235-2646. 7. Fuel--any temporary on-situ fuel supplies must be permitted through Fire Prevention. None on site per contractor. B. Fire hydrant - refer to City Specifications for relocating and resetting fire hydrants. 9. Call 911 24 hours in advance for any road closure. CATER: 1. Utility contractor will be R.C. Excavating Ltd, Rick Cram. Surveying will be Boyd & AsAviates, Bob Boyd, phone 2•44-2869. 2. Pipe materials, valves, fittings shall be as indicated in the st:mdaru notes. 3. The contractor will install all of the watermain except the connection. All connections to existing mains to he ac:omplished by the City of Renton. All necessary excavation, shoring and materia _ to be supplied by the contractor and be on-site prior to City notifications. 4. All blocking must be inspected before backfilling. Thrust blocks must he formed. Concrete used must be delivered to the job (no on-site mixes). In the Pollos Estates Plat Page 3 street and in all crossings, the City requires 5/8" minus rock backtill. Compaction test may be required. 5. Procedure for cleaning: Pipe cleaning shall be by poly pigging through vertical crosses. All services shall be pressure tested to a minimum of 200 psi or 150 over operating pressure (static) for 2 hours. Chlorinate for 24 hours, using liquid chlorine and chlorine pump assembly. Talk to the inspector to schedule chlorinating. They need a week (5 worktn days) advance notice. Flushing shall be drained into the sanitary. Water pull tests are taken to the laboratory on Wednesday. Contractor shall arrange courier for any other day. 6. Where conflict exists, the water shall go under other utilities however, no water mains shall be under more than 6 feet of cover. 7. Final acceptance shall be after final walk through inspection, adjustment of all structures and approval of as-builts, cost data inventory. 8. The contractor, as well as the engineer, shell keep as-built drawings. All changes shall be shown on as-builts. As-builts shall he per City specifications. For any field changes, if minor, give City a shop drawing (by Fax); if major, need a day or two to review and approve. Field inspector cannot give approval in field for construction changes. 9.
