PRIVATE UTILITIES-PUGEf POWER:

1. Developer should contact telephone company as soon as possible, since there review time
is typically 6 weeks.
2. Will need to identify point of service-cooridinate with Karen Sharp of Puget Power. -
3. Pule location okay as shown on plan in planting strip along NE 16th Street. ;g
4. No temporary service required pet contractor.
5. Advise ordering lighting as soon u possible since long lead times are typically required.
6. New street lights must be a minimum of 10 feet from power lines, which are 29' at this
location. This may be a problem which must be resolved prior to installation of lighting.
FIRE PREVENTION:
I. Maintain access to site at all times. Must be able to support emergency equipment in all
types of weather.
2. All new hydrants shall be Cory type hydrants to be painted Safety Yellow. Iowa and
Remelear are manufacturers of Cory type.
3. New hydrants ar>to be covered with burlap bags until operational.
4. All blocking must be inspected by a City inspector prior to backfill.
5. Leads that exceed 50 feet in length shall be 8".
6. Call 911 if the watermain needs to be shut off(emergency only). All other water mains or
valves shut down, call Renton Water Department at 235-2646.
7. Fuel --any temporary on-site fuel supplies must he permitted through Fire Prevention.
WATER:
I. Pipe materials,valves,fittings shall be as indicated in the standard notes.

2. The contractor will install all of the watermein except the connection. All connections to
existing mains to be accomplished by the City of Renton. All necessary excavation, y
shoring, and materials to be supplied by the contractor and be on-site prior to City
notification.

3. All blocking must be inspected before backfrlling. Thrust blocks most be formed. :
Concrete used must be delivered to the job (no on-site mixes). In the street and in all
crossings,the City requires 5/8" minus rock backfill. Compaction test may be required.
4. Procedure for cleaning: Pipe cleaning shall be by poly pigging through vertical crosses.
All services shall be pressure tested to minimum of 200 psi or 150 over operating pressure
(static) for 2 hours. Chlorinate for 24 hours, using liquid chlorine and chlorine pump
assembly. Talk to the inspector to schedule chlorinating. They need a week (5 working j
days)advance notice. Flushing shall be drained into the sanitary. Water purity tests are
taken to the laboratory on Wednesday. Contractor shall arrange courier for any other day.
5. Where conflict exists, the water shall go under other utilities, however, no water mains
shall be under more than 6 feet of cover. !I

6. Final acceptance shall be after final walk through inspection, adjustment of all structures
and approval of as builts,cost data inventory.
7. The contractor,as well as the engineer ,shall keep as-built drawings. All changes shall be
shown on as-builts. As-builts shall be per Civ specifications. For any field changes, if s'
minor, give City a shop drawing (by FAX- 235-2541); if major, need a day or two to
review and approv.•. Field inspector can not give approval in field for construction
changes.
SANITARY SEWER:
1. All pipes and materials shall be per approved plan.
2. Pipe bedding for PVC pipe shall be pea gravel 6" above and below the pipe.
3. Select backfill shall be computed to at least 95% of maximum density.
4. Contractor will be responsible for TV of the sanitary line with low flow conditions after
pipe has been cleaned. TV after channeling is complete. Air tests on main and sidesewers 1 .
shall be per City specification. Number 6 wire shall be wrapped around the stud and
extended to the top.
5. As-builts shall include all final invert elevations for the side sewer stubs to each lot.
6. Pay close attention to side sewer clearance over detention system, and provide extra
protection if warranted by field conditions.
7. Connection to existing manhole to be core drilled. Existing manhole must be rechanneled
for new connection.
8. New upstream manhole shall NOT be channeled, but should be dished to drain properly. y

1. Good erosion control measures are to be exercised at all times. I({

4. Bedding material shall be per Standard Specifications 9-03.12(3).

IL Rock drain around perforated pipe shall be 314" minimum and 2-114" maximum.
TRANSPORTATION:
1. Uniform manual shall be followed for street closures,routing for traffic.
2. Paving — The minimum compaction shall be 95% of maximum relative density on
subgrade and rock surfaces.

3. Contractor shall not leave open trenches overnight.
GENERAL:
1. CALL FOR INSPECTION(24 HR NOTICE)BEFORE YOU START WORK.
2. Stan date - ASAP for site preparation, sanitary sewer work to begin March 22. rest to
follow.
3. Work hours for work in right-of-way are weekdays. 8:30 AM to 0:30 PM, Saturday by
approval only and no Sundays.
4. Overtime takes special authorization. Pay schedule is$50 per hour for overtime.
5. Keep the streets clean.

6. Haul legal loads at non-peak hours(8:30 am to 3:30 pm).
