The project consists of the installation of 3,050 feet of 8-inch watermain in Queen Avenue SE, SE 100th Street, and 126th Avenue SE. Mee vicinity map.) I. Scope of Work iv The scope of work for this project consists of the installation of 550 ft. of 8-inch ductile iron watermain, fire hydrants and appurtenances in a` +' Queen Avenue SE, from SE 102nd Street to SE 100th Street. # Additionally, 600 ft of 8-inch ductile iron watermain, fire hydrants and $ '- appurtenances in SE 100th Street from Queen Avenue SE to 126thA-{`.: Avenue SE. Also, 1,900 ft of 8-inch ductile iron watermain, fire hydrants and appurtenances in SE 126th Avenue SE from SE 100th Street to 600 ft. south of SE 104th Street.C. DESIGN ELEMENTS +• '� The design elements will consist of the following: 1. Installation of approximately 3,050 lineal feet of 8-inch ductile iron watermain, isolation valves, hydrants and appurtenances. 2. Connections to existing watermains after testing, cleaning and disinfecting of new watetmainlsl. �a- 3. Restoration of asphalt pavement per new City of Renton trench restoration standards. SPECIAL DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS: 1. The 8-inch watermain installation at a minimum of three feet from 1 the existing steel watermains to lessen impact or damage to the l existing watermains. The existing watermans will be abandoned k . in place. 2. Installation of erosion control devices to protect any runoff from rr the construction site from entering beyond right-of-way. Erosion control devices shall include fleut not be 'amited to) hay bales, filter fabric over existing catch basins, and daily removal and disposal of unsuitable material. 3. All stockpiling of material; will be kept to a minimum and shall be } covered with plastic tarplsl. 4. Limit construction hours from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, to reduce noise impact to adjacent resir' nces. 5. Maintain one lane of traffic open at all times during construction and provide approved channelization and flag men for public safety per City of Renton, standards. 6. No off-site refueling and i,o storape of fuel and other chemicals will be allowed ,n order to protect surface and groundwater from inadvertent spills. E. RIGHT-OF-WAY No additional right-of-way or easement is wquired. All work shall be constructed within the existing right-of-way of Queen Avenue SE, SE 100th Street and 186th Avenue SE. F. ENVIRONMENTAL DOCUMENTS: An environmental checklist will be prepared per SEPA requirements. A Shoreline Management Permit will not be required since the site ,s over 200 feet from the shoreline. A design team will be formed. G. PERMITS: A King County Street Use Permit will need to be obtained prior to construction work. H VALUE ENGINEERING: Not proposed for this project. The extent of the storm system improvements have not been determined, but may include installing additional catch basins or the replacement of the system in NE 9th St. The Surface Water Utility will coordinate with you during the design phase of the project (between now and February). We would be interested in reviewing the survey/base maps when they have been prepared. - Prior to finalizing your design for both projects, please allow for a review by the other Utility Section's so that additional improvements can be identified without impacting your project schedule.
