SPECIAL PROJECT CONSIDERATIONS:
1. Be careful to keep the site clean of mud and dust.
i
2. Work hours for w-rk in right-of-way are weekdays,7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Work on Saturday
by approval only and no Sundays. Construction hours are 7 am to 5 PM Monday through Saturday.
Any changes to work hours shall have prior approval from the City of Renton. No work on Sundays
or holidays.No equipment shall be on the construction site(in operation)until 7:00 a.m.
3. No use of heavy equipment on Saturday
4. Hauling limited to 8:30 am to 3:30 PM or via other approved routes.
5. No construction vehicles on other residential streets.
6. Traffic Control shall be pre- approved by City Traffic Engineer. Contact Jun Asquiviel at
430-7301.
WATER-
1. Contractor shall submit a min. of 2 ea. Material submittals for review and approval.
2. Pipe materials,shall be paid per callow in construction documents. No additional payments shall be
made.
3. The contractor will install all of the watermain except the connection. All connections to existing
mains to be accomplished by the City of Renton. All necessary excavation, shoring,and mat. '-IIs to
be supplied by the contractor and be on-site prior to City notification.
4. All blocking must be inspected before backfilling. Thrust blocks must be formed. Concrete used
must be delivered to the job(no on-site mixes). In the street and in all crossings, the City requires
5/8" minus rock backfill. Compaction test may be required.
5. The contractor is responsible to place an S800 deposit for the use of a DDCVA/Hydrant Meter prior
to using any City operated water. Also, contractor shall poly pig all new water main installed.
Procedure for cleaning: Pine cleaning shall he by poly pigging through vertical crosses. All services
shall be pressure tested to minimum of 200 psi or 150 over operating pressure (static) for 2 hours.
Chlorinate for 24 hours, using liquid chlorine and chlorine pump assembly by City crews. Talk to
the inspector to schedule chlorinating. They need week(5 working days)advance notice. Flushing
shall be drained into the sanitary. Water purity tests are taken to the laboratory on Wednesday.
Contractor shall arrange courier for any other day.
n Where conflict exists,the water shall go under other utilities, however.no water mains shall be under
more than 6 feet of cover.

7. Final acceptance shall be after final walk through inspection, adjustment of all structures and
approval of as-builts,cost data inventory.
8. The contractor,as well as the engineer,shall keep as-built drawings. Show all inverts and elevations.
All changes shall be shown on as-builts. As-builts shall be per City specifications. For any field
changes, if minor, give City a shop drawing (by FAX- 430-7241); if major, need a day or two to
review and approve. Field inspector can not give approval in field for construction changes.
GENERAL:
1. . NOTIFY FIRE.POLICE AND METRO OF CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE. CALL 9l1 FROM
A LOCAL LAND LINE ONLY. FIRE DISPATCH FROM CELL PHONE: 952-2121.

4. Overtime takes spectai authorization. Pay schedule is $50 per hour for overtime. The City ;hall
cover inspection overtime hours from 3:00—5:00 PM.
5. Keep the streets clean. Truck washing and other measures as approved required for the duration of
the project. Provide whatever measures necessary for cleanup and dust control during job and at
night. All truck maneuvering and materials storage to be on-site only. Right of way to remain
unobstructed when possible. No stockpiles on right of way.
6. Haul legal loads.
7. Keep a set of approved by the City drawings and construction documents on-site at all times.
Contractors are advised to only use sets of drawings stamped and signed by the City of Renton for
constructing utility and transportation improvements. The approved plans do not constitute a fill and
grade permit or grant auy rights to fill and/or grade outside of the right-of-way. Keep a set of
approved drawings on-site ai all times.
8. All utilities must be inspected prior to backfill.
9. For any field changes: If minor, submit a shop drawing or schematic through the inspector or by
FAX- 430-7241. If major, the project engineer should submit drawings and complete justification,
information and calculations as applicable to the Plan Review project coordinator. The City will
answer by memo or schedule a meeting within two days.
10. Company Logo shall be visibly located on all vehicles on the job site.
