All new single family dwelling(s) must be with 300 feet of a fire hydrant, per current City's standard. The hydrant must able to able to deliver a flowrate of 1,000 gallon per minute(gpm). 2. It is the responsibility of the owneddeveloper to verify by a field measurement, whether the proposed single family dwelling is located within the 300 feet distance from an existing fire hydrant. The distance shall be measured ft-)m the hydrant, and along the traveled portion of the roadway, private access road,and driveway to the proposed structure. 3. If the proposed structure is located more than 300 feet from the ..Aisting hydrant, the owner/developer is required to install a new hydrant in front of the property, or at a location within 300 feet of the proposed structure. The final location of the new hydrant must be approved by the Fire Marshal. 4. If the proposed structure is located within 300 feet from an existing fire hydrant that does not meet current City standards ( i.e.: a hydrant with two pumper ports), the owner/developer is required to replace the existing hydrant with a new fire hydrant meeting the current City's standards. 5. When the available flow rate from an existing hydrant and connecting water main is greater than 500 gpm and less than 1,000 gpm, the owner/developer may install a residential fire sprinkler system in the new single family dwelling. The design and installation of the fire sprinkler system must be approved by the Fire Marshal. The structure must also be within 300 feet of an existing fire hydrant. 6. When the available flow rate from an existing hydrant and connecting water main is less than 500 gpm, the owner/developer is required to install a new water main and hydrant per City's standards. The new water main shall extend from an existing water main capable of delivering 1,000 gpm, and along the frontage road to the extreme boundary of the property line. This project is part of a continued effort to upgrade the watermain distribution system in support of the City's goals for replacing undersized watemlains. Your neighborhood will have an increased fire flow capacity, which allows the Fire Department better ability to fight potential house tires. After this watermain is installed.N 29°i Street will be scheduled for an overlay with new asphalt through the City's 2002 Street Overlay Program. We regret the temporary inconvenience construction may cause, and have taken the following steps to minimize disruption: • Construction work hours are restricted to Monday through Friday,7:00 AM—3:30 PM • Local street access will be maintained at all times. However,the alley may be blocked for brief periods. • Parking along the alley during construction hours will be prohibited, due to limited construction space. • Upon completion of the watermain installation, the alley will be scheduled for overlay with new asphalt. Construction will begin the week of June 24, 2002 and be completed by July 22e0. (No c, rruction will take place on the 46 of July Holiday).
