I was dispatched to a report of a hit and run collision that had occurred inside the Brown Bear Car Wash located at 800 S Grady Way Renton/King/WA. An employee was advising that a vehicle struck another inside the wash and had then fled the scene. The employee provided the suspect plate as WA/CBF0808 which returned a black 2009 GMC Yukon to a Tia M Credit DOB: 1/7/1990. 1 met with the victim, identified as John-Michael Almo DOB: 7/26/2002. John showed me damage to the rear trunk hatch just below the license plate on his 2017 Honda CR-V WA/CUG6182. John said that he was inside the wash when the vehicle behind him hit him. He could only describe the suspect vehicle as a larger black vehicle and said he did not see the driver and would not be able to identify if he saw them again. John said that he wanted a case number for his insurance but did not want to press charges. I then met with a Brown Bear employee who showed me surveillance footage, it showed both vehicles going through the wash, the wash stops, and you can see the Yukon continue moving forward until it collides with the Honda. An employee approaches the driver and speaks to them. Due to the angle of the camera and equipment in the wash I was not able to see a driver. The vehicle then exits the wash and leaves the lot without staying to exchange information. I provided Brown Bear employees with an Axon Link to upload surveillance footage. At the time this report was completed I had not received any footage. Nothing further.
