EG54942 CASE# 25-9635 O OF COLLI 510N TIME 11/06/25 13:26 COLLISION NARRATIVE On November 6, 2025, at approximately 1526 hours, I was dispatched to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of SW 41 st St and Lind Ave SW, within the City Limits of Renton, County of King, State of Washington. Upon arrival, I contacted the involved parties and confirmed no injuries had occurred requiring immediate medical response at the time of report. There, I collected the involved parties driving documents and their independent recollection of events leading up to the collision. The driver of Unit#1, identified as Carson Pyatt, said she was the sole occupant of her vehicle and was stopped directly behind Unit#2 at the intersection of SW 41 st and Lind Ave SW. Carson was in lane 1 of 2 facing northbound. While stopped, she is unsure of what happened but believes her foot slipped and touched the accelerator. In doing so, she jolted forward and struck Unit#2 from behind. Unit#1 sustained moderate damage to the front bumper. The driver of Unit#2, identified as Adrian Marcano-Rivera, said he was the sole occupant of his vehicle and was also stopped facing northbound at the intersection of Lind Ave SW and SW 41 st St. While stopped at the traffic signal, Unit#1 collided with the rear of Unit#2 causing moderate damage to the rear of Unit#2. The driver of Unit#1 (Carson) was not paying attention to traffic in front of her. Carson violated Renton Municipal Code (RMC) 10-12-25-Inattentive Driving which is defined as any person to drive a motor vehicle on any public highway, street, alley, or road in an inattentive manner in the City of Renton. "Inattentive manner" in this section means a lack of: 1) attentiveness required to safely operate the vehicle under the prevailing conditions, including, but not limited to, the nature and condition of the roadway, the weather conditions, the presence of pedestrians, the presence of other traffic, or by the driver focusing or directing the driver's attention to something other than driving the motor vehicle; or 2) attentiveness that would permit the driver of a motor vehicle to observe anything resting on, or traveling on, or entering the roadway in time to take appropriate action as circumstances require. (Ord. 4462, 7-25-94, eff. retroactive to 7-1-94; Ord. 5635, 11-14-11). Based on the above statements, I determined that Carson is the proximate cause for the collision due to inattention causing a collision. Smith should have been paying closer attention to the movement of traffic in front of him. I cited Carson via mail for Inattention. Both involved vehicles were able to be driven away without further incident. An exchange of information was provided to all involved parties.
