On December 2nd, 2025, at 1049 hours, I witnessed a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of SW 7th St and
Burnett Ave S, in the City of Renton, County of King, and State of Washington.
I was stopped at the three intersecting roadways of SW 7th St, Burnett Ave S, and Talbot Rd S. I was facing
southbound in the left turn lane of Talbot Rd S, and I intended to make a left turn to travel north on Burnett
Ave S. When I brought my patrol vehicle to a stop, I observed Unit#2 traveling directly behind Unit#1. Both
vehicles were going northbound on Talbot Rd S. As Unit#1 approached my patrol vehicle, he abruptly brought
his vehicle to a complete stop, causing Unit#2 to strike him from behind. Unit#1's actions also caused other
vehicles behind Unit#2 to veer off their lane to avoid any additional collisions.
*It is important to note that northbound traffic on Talbot does not have a stop sign or traffic signals.
Based on my training and experience, I believe the driver of Unit#1 brought his vehicle to a stop so he could
create a gap in traffic which would allow me to make my left.
While stopped, I did not have my overhead lights and sirens activated.
After the collision occurred, both vehicles pulled into the Brown Bear Carwash.There,the driver of Unit#1,
identified as Pithorack Kane, confirmed he stopped so I could complete my left turn. I told Pithorack he had
the right of way and shouldn't have stopped.
The driver of Unit#2, identified as Vasean Pollard, stated he was following Unit#1 when he abruptly stopped.
Vasean was unable to avoid the collision.
Both drivers denied any injuries, and the damage to both vehicles appear to be minor.
Pithorack violated RCW 46.04.566 Stop or Stopping.
The RCW states that "stop or stopping" when prohibited means any halting even momentarily of a vehicle,
whether occupied or not.
Based on the information above, I believe Pithorack is the proximate cause of the collision for stopping in a
roadway when prohibited.
No infractions were issued towards Pithorack, and this report is information only.
