The City of Renton is soliciting qualifications from local artists for a public art project at
Legacy Square, located in downtown Renton. The project is part of the City’s adopted
Legacy Square Art Plan and will include a site-responsive artwork such as a mural,
banners, sculpture, or similar installation, to be determined by the project team in
collaboration with the selected artist.
This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is for artist qualifications only; design proposals will
be requested at a later stage from selected artist(s). The anticipated project budget is
$20,000–$50,000, inclusive of design, fabrication, and installation, depending on final
scope and approach.
The RFQ is open to artists in the greater Seattle area, with preference given to those living
or working in Renton. Submissions must be received by January 9, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
