NARRATIVE
Unless otherwise noted, all events took place in the City of Renton, in the County of King, in the State
of Washington.
This incident was captured on my body worn video camera and in-car cameras. This report is a
summary of events that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events.
On 11/30/2025, at approximately 0013 hours I was dispatched to a report of a collision at the
intersection of S 7th St and Rainier Ave S. Dispatch advised 2 vehicle collision blocking the roadway.
At approximately 0019 hours I arrived on scene. Unit 1 was located on S 7th St just east of Rainier
Ave S. Unit 1 was pulled off to the side of the road and had heavy front-end damage to the front
passenger side bumper. Unit 2 was located on Rainier Ave S just north of S 7th St. Unit 2 was pulled
off to the side of the road with heavy damage the rear passenger side. I contacted all involved parties
and asked if anyone was injured. They all stated they were uninjured and declined any medical aid.
The driver of Unit 1 relayed the following information. He was driving westbound on S 7th St
approaching Rainier Ave S. He didn't realize his light was red and entered the intersection. Unit 2 was
driving northbound on Rainier Ave S approaching S 7th St. Unit 2 had a green light and entered the
intersection. The driver of Unit 1 saw Unit 2 at the last second but did not have enough time to stop or
avoid the collision. He struck the rear passenger side of Unit 2 with the front passenger bumper of
Unit 1. Unit 1 had airbag deployment and had to be towed.
The driver of Unit 2 relayed the following information. He was driving northbound on Rainier Ave S
approaching S 7th St. He had a green light and entered the intersection. He saw Unit 1 driving
westbound on S 7th St approaching Rainier Ave S. Unit 1 ran the red light and struck the rear
passenger side of Unit 2. Unit 2 had airbag deployment but did not need to be towed.
The passenger of Unit 1 was sitting in the back seat and did not see what happened.
I issued the driver of Unit 1, Sebastian A. Dumas DOB 6/5/2006 a notice of infraction for failing to
obey traffic control device.
