Unless otherwise noted,the following occurred within the city limits of Renton, county of King, state of
Washington.
On 12/18/2025, 1 was working as a uniformed police officer for the city of Renton.At approximately 0055
hours, I was in the area of N 4th St and Logan Ave N when I observed a vehicle halfway up on the curb along
Logan Ave N. Portions of my involvement in the incident were captured on my department-issued
bodycam.Any statements referred to have been paraphrased and summarized.
I observed two males outside of the vehicle, on the driver and passenger side, respectively. I activated my
emergency lights and blocked southbound traffic along Logan Ave N in lane 1 of 2. 1 got out of my patrol
vehicle and spoke to the (self-admitted) driver of unit 1. He told me that prior to the collision, he was driving
westbound on N 4th St. Once at the intersection of Logan Ave N, he attempted to negotiate a left-hand
(southbound)turn; however, he lost control of the vehicle and ended up on the curb. He did not furnish me
any insurance information for the vehicle.
I observed that the front passenger side tire (and the surrounding area) had suffered significant damage as a
result of what occurred.
I requested a tow from dispatch and a driver from Bankers showed up a short time later. When the driver of
unit 1 advised he did not have any money to pay for the tow, I completed an impound form instead
(impounded under RCW 46.55.113.2c).
Nothing further.
