EG60426 CASE# 25-80669 OF COLLISION 12/13/25 17:00 OF CbLLI510N NARRATIVE On 12/13/2025 1 was dispatched to an accident report located at 2810 NE Sunset Blvd, located in the City of Renton, King County, Washington. The notes of the call stated that the reporting party was struck by a vehicle fifteen minutes prior, the victim was dropped off at their residence. I called the reporting party, identified as Anthony Duenas (DOB: 02/25/2005). Anthony reported that he had just gotten off the bus at 2810 NE 10th ST while on the southeast side of the roadway. Anthony stated that he approached the crosswalk to cross NE Sunset Blvd northwest. Anthony pressed the crosswalk button, illuminating the crosswalk crossing signs so that it would be clear to other driver's that he was crossing the street. Anthony began crossing the street, while crossing the roadway he was struck in the #1 eastbound lane of NE Sunset Blvd by a Toyota SUV. Anthony stated that the collision occurred at approximately 15mph. Anthony was pushed onto the hood and then flung off the hood onto the road when the vehicle stopped. The driver of the Toyota exited the vehicle, checked on Anthony and later provided his license and insurance information. The driver of the Toyota asked Anthony if needed to go to the hospital, Anthony declined and was given a ride home by the driver. Anthony identified the driver of the Toyota as Jose P. De-Leon (DOB: 08/20/1951) through his WA DOL. Anthony identified the vehicle as a 2022 Toyota Highlander (WA LIC: CTB9961). After being dropped off at his residence by Jose, Anthony called to report the incident. Anthony reported that he was wearing a headlamp that was illuminated while crossing the street. Anthony later facetimed me where I confirmed his identity. He showed me his knees and elbows, both of which were bleeding. Anthony noted that his back hurt, his elbow hurt, and his neck hurt. 1 encouraged Anthony to go to the hospital, Anthony agreed to go after our call. I later spoke to Jose at his residence, Jose reported a similar story but with different details. Jose reported that he was driving eastbound on NE Sunset Blvd in the 2800 block in the #1 lane. Jose observed a bus stopped on the side of the road and continued eastbound. Jose then observed Anthony emerge from in front of the bus and begin crossing the roadway which is when the collision occurred. Jose reported that Anthony was not in a crosswalk and was actually 10-15 feet east of the crosswalk. Jose noted that Anthony was wearing black clothing and he did not see Anthony until after the collision occurred. Jose reported that he was driving approximately 30mph at the time of the crash. Jose's wife, identified as Imelda M. De-Leon was in the front passenger seat of the vehicle at the time of the crash and reported the same story. Jose reported after the collision he checked on Anthony and asked if he wanted to go to the hospital. Anthony declined and Jose drove him home. Jose and Imelda were not injured. Jose allowed me to look at his vehicle which had moderate damage to the passenger side front bumper and hood. Jose showed me where the collision occurred and showed me a black beanie lying in the roadway in one of the photos. Jose reported that the beanie had flown off of Anthony's head during the collision. I observed the beanie in the roadway and not in the crosswalk. At this time I cannot determine proximate cause to the collision as I have both parties telling different stories and no witnesses.
