Unless otherwise noted, the following happened within the City Limits of Renton, County of
King, State of Washington.
On 12/31/25 at approximately 2049 hours I was dispatched to a hit and run at S 2nd St and
Rainier Ave S. One of the involved driver's left the scene without exchanging information.
The driver of the Unit#2 said that he was driving southbound on Rainier Ave S approaching the
intersection of S 2nd St.The light to proceed south on Rainier Ave S was green. As Unit#2
proceeded through the intersection Unit#1 entered the intersection from S 2nd St to the east
and attempted to turn south on Rainier Ave S. Unit#1 then struck Unit#2 on the driver side of
the vehicle. Both vehicles pulled into the parking lot of Big Island Poke.The drivers of both
vehicles exited their vehicles.The driver of Unit#1 yelled at the driver of Unit#2 that they hit
them.The driver of Unit#2 told him that no, Unit#1 ran the red light.The driver Unit#1 then said
that he was about to "bust a cap" and began pulling up his pants. The driver of Unit#2 was
unsure if the driver of Unit#1 had a gun or was about to fight him.The driver of Unit#1 then got
back in his car, drove south on Rainier Ave S and then turned west on SW Sunset Blvd and out of
sight.The driver of Unit#1 did not make an attempt to exchange any information before leaving.
The driver of Unit#2 described the driver of Unit#1 as a black male in his late 20s or early 30s
with short dreadlocks.
A witness,Alexander S Chung(01/24/06), was driving north on Rainier Ave S approaching t le
intersection of S 2nd St.The light to proceed north on Rainier Ave S was green. As Alexander
proceeded through the intersection Unit#1 entered the intersection from S 2nd St to the east.
Alexander applied his brakes and honked his horn at Unit#1. The driver of Unit#1 was on the
phone and had his window down. He began swearing at Alexander while looking back at him. He
continued driving through the intersection while looking at Alexander and then struck Unit#2.
On 01/01/26 the driver of Unit#2 sent me an email of a license plate he found after driving 3way
from the scene. He believed it belonged to the Unit#1. The plate was WA/CLY5577 , which is
registered to a 2009 Lexus IS with an Asian male registered owner who does not match the
description of the driver of Unit#1.There is a bill of sale from November of 2024 with no name.A
search in LinX of the vehicle and the address on the bill of sale did not provide any further
information. I attempted a CARFAX for police search and did not find anymore information on
the current owner of Unit#1.

If the driver of the Lexus can be identified there is probable cause for RCW 46.52.020 Duty Dn
striking attended car or other property for striking Unit#2 and then leaving without exchanging
information.
