Please note this regular meeting of the Renton Equity Commission is being offered as a hybrid
meeting and can be attended in person or remotely via Zoom.

by the commission.Attendees will be muted and not audible to the commission except during
times they are designated to speak.

STAFF COMMENTS
DCAO Kristi Rowland shared that our December meeting will be held as a work session to
review and discuss bylaws.
November 18, 2025 REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
We have interviewed three people to fill upcoming vacancies. Both Chair and Vice Chair
participated.We are making our recommendation to the mayor and will update on the
process.We are still recruiting for a youth member.
We will elect officers, do work plan review and update, and other housekeeping items at
our January meeting.
Thankyou to Commissioners Diaz and Lu for participating on the commission through
your terms and for your contributions to the commission.

Legislative Update
Eric Perry, GovernmentAffairs Manager
COMMITTEE MEMBER COMMENTS
Commissioner Diaz shared that it has been an honorto serve on the commission and he
has enjoyed his time and looks forward to working together in the future.
Commissioner Tanwar shared that he has been working with a non-profit and helped
organize a food drive to provide assistance during the government shut down and is
interested in helping with something similar in Renton.
DCAO Rowland shared that there was a recent presentation at a council committee
about food resources and we will share that information with the commission. Human
Services may also be able to provide information or direction.
November 18, 2025 REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
Commissioner Imaoka is a member of Sustainable Renton which is also distributing food.
Renton Chamber of Commerce is also collecting food for seniors in limited-income
housing.
Commissioner Baddeley shared that the Renton high schools are taking donations for
turkey baskets to distribute.
Commissioner Diaz shared that Brewmaster's in Renton is also taking food donations
and doingfood distribution.
COMMITTEE CHAIR COMMENTS
Commissioner Imaoka shared that she volunteered to be a disaster"survivor" during the
Community Emergency Response Team final drill as a "non-English-speaking survivor."She
is a CERT graduate and considering taking the class again next year. She encouraged others
to join and help be part of the solution.
