The following occurred in the City of Renton, King County, Washington unless otherwise stated.
During this incident 1 was equipped with body-worn camera which records both audio and video.
Portions of the incident were recorded. This report is merely a summary of the incident and is not
intended to be an exact transcription of the entire investigation or what may have been captured
with the recording system. During this incident 1 was wearing a department issued uniform or jump
suit and outer carrier vest which was marked with "Police"both on the front, back, and
department patches on each shoulder of the uniform or jumpsuit, as well as a Renton Police Velcro
badge on my left chest. It would be immediately obvious to any reasonable person that I was a
Police Officer.
On 1/6/2026 at 1454 hours I was dispatched to a hit and run collision at the intersection of NE 4th St
and Union Ave NE.
There were two victims identified in this case as Pamela J. Walvatne (DOB: 05/24/1956), and Shelby
E. Scovel (DOB: 04/16/1983) by WA DIL.
Scovel stated that she was facing South on Union Ave NE at NE 4th St in the lefthand turn lane
preparing to turn left to proceed East on NE 4th St in Unit 2 (Black 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe CMA5781).
Scovel stated that Unit 1, a white sedan (possibly a Toyota Camry) was positioned behind her, and
behind that was the other victim in this case in Unit 3 (Red 2003 Ford Explorer PT02385). Scovel
stated that for no apparent reason, the suspect vehicle lurched forward and collided with the rear
bumper of Unit 2 with the front bumper of Unit 1. Scovel then stated that Unit 1 reversed and the
rear bumper of Unit 1 collided with the front bumper of Unit 3.
Scovel stated that Unit 1 then began to flee through the 7/11 parking lot and then onto NE 4th St
Westbound. Scovel followed Unit 1 into the parking lot of Orange Theory Fitness located at 3895 NE
4th St where she lost sight of Unit 1. Scovel was able to take a photo of the suspect vehicle but the
plate was too blurry to read and upon running the license plate the suspect vehicle returned to an
Infinity.
This incident occurred in the sCity of Renton,King County,Washington State.

Walvatne relayed the same order or events and both her and Scovel stated that they would not be
able to identify the suspect in this case. I will follow up at the businesses at a later date to try and get
a license plate for the suspect vehicle.
At this time, there are no suspects in this case.
