Hello Joey,
The Water Utility has reviewed the plumbing plans (BT120-MPS001) and approved the location of the 2-inch backflow prevention assembly (RPBA) within the core building. Accordingly, an
RPBA behind the new domestic water meter is not required.
Sincerely,

Hi Jeremy and Abdoul,
With Mike out on medical leave, I wanted to follow-up on this item to see if either of you were able to come to a decision/conclusion that the plans already satisfy civil permit condition
of approval #11 (see image below for reference). Our design in the core building already has this back flow prevention.
Thanks!

Good morning Jeremy and Abdoul,
In response the backflow condition of approval for the Sound Transit project, we received the response below from the applicant’s team. It appears that the RPBA is located within the
janitor closet and serves the main service line going to the buildings. The ground hydrant main comes out of the building to serve the site after passing through the RPba. I do know
we allow these to be located within buildings sometime. Is there any other information you would like to receive? We haven’t seen cut-sheets yet as the contractor is just started
on board and will be getting those once the NTP begins. Any other information you would like to see?
Thanks,

Hey Mike,
Caught up with Matt re: backflow preventer and condition of approval #11 (1st image below).
I confirmed with Matt that we do have a reduced pressure backflow preventer in the janitor closet of the core facility building, on the private line that runs out from the core building
out to the ground hydrants.
On the 2nd image below, the PRV-01 is the pressure reducing valve, and the BFP-01 and BFP-02 is the backflow preventer. The City would need access to the janitor closet as that’s going
to be locked and for ST access only, though there’s a shutoff for the line in the meter box as well. Is that something the City will need access for?
Also see the attached plan sheet which shows all this information in the riser diagram in more detail.
Thanks!
