converted into a daycare facility. The project will involve submitting a tenant improvement
permit to facilitate renovations that ensure the space complies with Washington State's
accessibility, functionality, and safety standards for daycare operations.
No new structures will be added; however, the following improvements are proposed to
meet the necessary requirements:
• Accessibility Enhancements: Installation of new accessibility ramps to ensure
easy access for all users, including individuals with disabilities.
• Interior Modifications: Selective demolition of interior walls to create open and
connected classrooms, improving the flow and functionality of the daycare
environment.
• Bathroom Expansion: Extension of the down-level bathroom to increase capacity
and accessibility in compliance with code requirements.
• Window Replacements: Replacement of existing windows that do not meet the
safety standards, specifically those below the required height that are not
tempered.
• Aesthetic Updates: New interior and exterior paint to refresh the facility and
enhance its appeal.
These renovations aim to create a safe, welcoming, and functional space suitable for
daycare use while adhering to all relevant building and safety codes. The improvements will
align the facility with the Washington State standards for daycare centers, ensuring a safe
environment for both children and staff.
