Narrative
This incident was captured on my body worn video camera and/or in-car dash camera. This report is a
summary of events that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events.
On 01/09/2025 at approximately 2138 hours I was dispatched the report of a hit and run collision that
occurred at 5500 Talbot Rd. S. Renton, King, WA.The reporting party advised that they witnessed a hit and run
collision involving a gray Mazda or Subaru hatchback that fled the scene.The victim vehicle was described as a
black SUV.
A second reporting party called and reported they were in the victim vehicle, a light blue 2025 Toyota
Highlander, WA/CSD9592, at Talbot Rd. S. and 53rd PI.The reporting party was later identified as Markeese L.
Hoven (DOB: 12/09/1996) and he also described the suspect vehicle as a silver Mazda.
At approximately 2145 hours I arrived and contacted Markeese (front passenger) and Evan G.Tanner(DOB:
01/24/1996)who advised he was the driver of the Highlander.There were no injuries, and I observed minor
damage to the back left tire and passenger door. I took photographs of the damage which were later uploaded
to Axon evidence.com for review.
Evan told me the following:
He was driving southbound on Talbot Rd. S in the 5500 block when a silver Mazda pulled out of a driveway on
the east side of Talbot making a right (northbound turn).The Mazda crossed the center line striking the
Highlander in the back left tire and passenger door.The driver of the Mazda did not stop to exchange
information and continued to drive away on Talbot Rd. S.
Evan did not have insurance, and the vehicle was registered to Markeese's wife. I provided both Markeese and
Evan with the case number.
The suspect vehicle was not located, and the driver was not identified at the time of this report.There is
probable cause to arrest the driver for RCW 46.52.020 Hit and Run—Attended.
