EG68565 CASE# 26-202 O OF COLLI 510N TIME 01/07/26 16:42 COLLISION NARRATIVE 26-202 On 01/07/2026 at approximately 1652 hours, I was dispatched to a two-vehicle collision which had occurred near the intersection of Southeast Carr Road and 106th PI SE, within the City Limits of Renton, County of King, State of Washington. Upon arrival, I contacted the involved parties and confirmed no injuries had occurred requiring immediate medical response at the time of report. There, I collected the involved parties driving documents and their independent recollection of events leading up to the collision. The driver of Unit#1 said he was the sole occupant of his vehicle and was traveling eastbound in about the 10600 block of SE Carr Rd just east of the intersection of 106th PL SE. The driver of Unit #1 stated he was traveling directly behind Unit#2 and saw as Unit#2 had come to a stop for queued traffic at the upcoming intersection. The driver of Unit#1 stated that he attempted to stop but that his foot slipped off of the brake and he inadvertently pressed the gas pedal. Unit#1 subsequently collided with the rear of Unit#2 causing minor damage to the front of Unit#1. The driver of Unit#2 said he was the sole occupant of his vehicle and was also traveling eastbound in about the 10600 block of SE Carr Rd just east of the intersection of 106th PL SE. While Unit#2 was stopped for queued traffic, Unit #1 collided with the rear of Unit #2 causing moderate damage to the rear tailgate and bumper of Unit#2. Based on the above statements, I determined that the Driver of Unit#1 (Juarez) is the proximate cause for the collision due to inattention causing a collision. Juarez should have been paying closer attention to the movement of traffic in front of him and appropriately applied the brakes in time to bring his vehicle to a stop. I cited the driver of Unit#1 (Juarez) via mail for violating RCW 46.30.020-Liability Insurance as no person may operate a motor vehicle subject to registration under chapter 46.16A RCW in this state unless the person is insured under a motor vehicle liability policy with liability limits of at least the amounts provided in RCW 46.29.090, is self-insured as provided in RCW 46.29.630, is covered by a certificate of deposit in conformance with RCW 46.29.550, or is covered by a liability bond of at least the amounts provided in RCW 46.29.090. Proof of financial responsibility for motor vehicle operation must be provided on the request of a law enforcement officer in the format specified under RCW 46.30.030. Both involved vehicles were able to be driven away without further incident. An exchange of information was provided to all involved parties.
