EG68742 CASE# 26-121 O OF COLLI 510N TIME 01/06/26 07:00 COLLISION NARRATIVE 26-121 ACC On 1/6/2026 1 was working as a uniformed patrol officer and driving a marked patrol vehicle for the City of Renton. 1 was dispatched to a report of a non-injury, non- blocking collision that had just occurred near the SR 167 off-ramp to eastbound S 43rd St Renton/King/WA. I arrived on scene and located both vehicles pulled to the shoulder on a nearby side street. The driver of Unit 2 advised he had a complaint of pain to his neck but did not request aid. The driver and passengers of Unit 1 did not report any injuries. The driver of the 2009 Nissan Altima WA/CTA7167 (Unit 1) was identified by her WADL as Jayda M Evans DOB: 5/17/2006. Jayda said that she was exiting northbound SR 167 to eastbound S 43rd St. She said that as she began her turn onto 43rd St, Unit 2 stopped in the lane of travel causing her to collide with the rear bumper. There was damage to the front passenger side bumper/headlight of the Altima. There was no airbag deployment, and the Altima was drivable. Jayda's driving status showed as clear and valid WACIC/NCIC/DOL. The driver of the 2021 Toyota Prius WA/CED4874 was identified by his WADL as Davinder Kumar DOB: 5/20/1971. Davinder initially said that he was exiting SR 167 and stopped while he waited for traffic. I confirmed that he was in the lane to turn east onto S 43rd and he said yes. Davinder said that he was "not driving" and he "was waiting". 1 informed him that this was a merge lane, and he was not supposed to stop. He then said that he had not stopped, and he was still driving while making his right turn, he then added that this was before the light. Davinder showed as clear and valid WACIC/NCIC/DOL. There was damage to the rear diver side bumper of the Prius. There was no airbag deployment, and the Prius was drivable. The roadway was wet, and it was actively raining at the time of the collision, it was dark outside, and the area of the collision was illuminated by streetlights. The off-ramp exits northbound SR 167 and splits into 3 lanes. Lanes #2 and #3 turn west or continue back onto NB SR 167. Lane #1 is a turn lane that turns into its own lane onto eastbound S 43rd St. It is represented by a sign that shows it turns into its own lane and does not have a yield or stop sign. Due to the condition of the roadway and nature of the intersection I believe Jayda was following too closely to avoid the collision. 1 cited Jayda for RCW 46.61.145.1 Following Vehicle Too Closely under Sector Citation #6A0092286. Based on Davinder's initial statement that he was stopped in the eastbound turn lane while he waited for traffic, 1 cited Davinder for RMC 10-12-25 Inattentive Driving under Sector Citation #6A0092285 Both citations should be mailed to Jayda and Davinder's DOL address.
