Subject:The Buddhist Temple on Petrovsky Rd.
Dear Valerie,
I would like you to have my input on how these (Neighbors) near our back yard affect our lives. I live in
Gainsborough Commons right below them. The Buddhists have concerts with lots of people in the
summertime and they use microphones that are LOUD and we cannot even be outside due to the noise
level. I love being outside gardening, feeding the birds and normal things like that but with the singing
into the microphone, music and banging on their enormous gong (they used a crane a couple of years ago
to install it, and it is LOUD as well) it is impossible to go outside and enjoy nature or even have company
outside on our deck and try to have conversations.
I understand that to have relief of their sins or whatever they call a sin, they must bang the gong 100
times to be forgiven!! Well, we certainly do not forgive them for all of the racket that goes on for hours
and that is a regular thing and not reserved for just the summertime.
Neighbors and I have called the police pretty regular basis to complain about the noise level and the
police said that they cannot do anything about the noise since it isn't after 10:00 pm, We are so frustrated
with all of the noise that cannot do anything about and we have even called the Buddhists and told them
to quiet down, and they just hang up the phone.
We are frustrated and do not know what to do since these BAD ACTORS moved in and destroyed our
peace and quiet that we have always enjoyed in our yards due to the wetlands that are in our backyards.
They also have caused damage to a unit right below them. The woman that lives below them suffered
flooding twice in her unit (right around Christmas time) a few years ago because the Buddhists removed
foliage to make a bigger parking lot!!
So, as I have described our dilemma with living with these issues our quality of life is diminished.
We do not know what to do except move and that is not an option for most people here at Gainsborough
Commons.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Jeannine Seil
