Narrative
During this incident, I was equipped with a body-worn camera, which records both audio and video. Portions
of this incident were recorded. This report is merely a summary of the incident and is not intended to be an
exact transcription of the entire investigation or what may have been captured with the recording system.
was operating a fully marked Police Tahoe#309 which was equipped with overhead emergency lights and
sirens. I was also wearing my department issued Renton Police uniform clearly identifies me as a Police
Officer.
Case Number 26-626
On 01/22/2026 at approximately 1808 hours I was dispatched to a collision at SW Grady Way and Lind Ave
SW,within the City of Renton, King County, Washington.
I identified unit 1 in this collision as a 2003 Mercedez 5004D (WA/LIC: BBB5783 VIN#WDBNG84J33A3488580.
The driver of unit 1 was identified as Talvin J Skinner(DOB 09/10/1952) by his WADOL photo. Unit 1 sustained
front-end damage but was able to leave under its own power.
I identified unit 2 in this collision as a 2018 Subaru Forrester(WA/LIC: CCB7823 VIN#JF2SJAWC6JH430617).
The driver of unit 2 was identified as John R Reid (DOB 08/12/1991) by his WADOL photo.Jack 0 Reid (DOB
04/24/2024) and Evelyn L Reid (DOB 01/17/2018) were in the back seat of unit 2. Unit 2 sustained minor rear
end damage and was able to leave under its own power.
No injuries were reported in this collision. Based on stories from parties involved it was determined that unit 1
was traveling eastbound on SW Grady Way approaching Lind Ave SW. Unit 1 was attempting to change lanes
and was focused on his mirrors/blind spots. Unit 1 failed to recognize that unit 2 who was directly in front of
him had stopped in traffic. Unit 1 was unable to stop in time and collided with unit 2 in a rear-end style
collision.
The proximate cause of this collision was unit 1 failing to recognize that unit 2 was stopped in traffic.
