Unless otherwise noted,the following occurred within the city limits of Renton, county of King, state of
Washington.
On 01/29/2026, 1 was working as a uniformed police officer for the city of Renton.At approximately 1932
hours, I was dispatched to a non-injury, non-blocking motor vehicle collision in the 12900 block of 156th Ave
SE. Portions of my involvement in the incident were captured on my department-issued bodycam. Any s
tatements referred to have been paraphrased and summarized.
While enroute, I learned that a Firefighter at Station 16 (12923 156th Ave SE) on-viewed the collision; which
left the single involved vehicle in the ditch on the east side of 156th Ave SE.
When I arrived on scene, I spoke to the driver of unit 1. He informed me that he was driving northbound to get
some food from the grocery store.As he made his way through the 13000 block, a pair of headlights from
opposing southbound traffic "blinded him."As a result, he lost control of his vehicle and it went into the ditch,
leaving it in such a position that left him unable to drive out.
Bankers towing responded to the scene and pulled the vehicle from the ditch. I directed the driver of unit 1 to
move it into the parking lot at Station 16,which he did.
The driver of unit 1 currently has a driver's license status of suspended/revoked in the third degree. After
verifying his address, I advised him that he would be receiving a citation in the mail for violation of RCW
46.20.342.1c—Driving while license suspended in the third degree. He stated he understood and provided me
with a phone number and email address for contact if needed. I left the scene after learning a friend was
enroute to pick the vehicle up.
Photos of the collision were later uploaded to the case file via AXON capture.
The corresponding number for the relevant citation is#6A002907.
