NARRATIVE
26-803 ACC
On 1/28/2026 1 was working as a uniformed patrol officer and driving a marked patrol vehicle for the
City of Renton. I was dispatched to a report of a two-vehicle, blocking collision that had occurred on
the 1200 block of SW 43rd St Renton/King/WA. The caller was reporting that both vehicles were able
to move out of the roadway.
I arrived in scene and located both drivers, RRFA was also on scene and evaluated the driver of Unit
1.
The driver of the 2022 Honda Passport WA/CDK5547 (Unit 1), was identified by her WADL as Hue T
Nguyen DOB: 7/22/1965. Hue said that she had stopped at the red-light facing south on Oaksdale
Ave SW and had started a right-turn to head west on SW 43rd St in the #1 lane. She said that she
saw Unit 2 "far away" and pulled out when she was struck in the rear bumper. There was minor
damage to the rear bumper of the Passport, no airbag deployment, and Hue was not injured. The
Passport was drivable and able to leave the scene.
The driver of the 2024 Ford F150 WA/D09447H (Unit 2), was identified by his WADL as Brian A Swett
DOB: 6/17/1979. Brian said that he was in the #1 lane driving west on SW 43rd St and was crossing
Oaksdale Ave SW with a green light. He said that Unit 1 pulled out in front of him, he said that he
honked, and Unit 1 slammed on it brakes causing him to collide with the rear bumper. There was
damage to the front bumper of the F150 and the aftermarket off-road lights. There was no airbag
deployment and Unit 2 was drivable.
Brian had a dash camera that captured the collision. It showed Brian driving west in the #1 lane of
SW 43rd St he enters the intersection with a green light as Unit 1 makes it right turn in front of him.
Unit 1 the slams on its brakes which causes Brian to collide with the rear bumper.
Brian uploaded the footage to Axon Evidence.
Based on the unsafe lane change and immediate braking I cited Hue for RCW 46.61.305 Unsafe
Turn/Lane Change under Sector citation #6A0092295. This citation should be mailed to Hue's DOL
address.
