NARRATIVE
On 02/01/2026 at approximately 1408 hours, while employed as a uniformed Patrol Officer for the
City of Renton, I responded to the listed location for a reported traffic collision with unknown injuries.
Upon arrival I contacted the driver of Unit 1, identified by her WADOL as Amy E. Thompson
(09/05/1984), who was driving a 2021 Amazon Delivery Ford Transit Van bearing WA Plate
C13466Y. Thompson stated that she had been on the south side of the intersection on Redmond Ave
NE, and had crossed the street to enter the driveway on the north side of the intersection. According
to Thompson, she had not seen any traffic prior to initiating her turn into the driveway and she felt a
collision prior to clearing the street.
The driver of Unit 2 was being tended to by Renton Fire department personnel when I arrived, she
was later identified by her WADOL as Celeste J. Callirgos Garcia (04/23/2004), and was driving a
2014 Dodge Dart bearing WA Plate CNG4190. I spoke with Garcia through the translator function on
my body camera. She stated that she was driving westbound on NE Sunset Blvd when Unit 1
suddenly pulled in front of her. According to Garcia she applied the vehicle brakes but was unable to
stop before colliding with Unit 1.
Unit 1 sustained minor damage to the right rear corner of the vehicle. Thompson reported no injuries.
Unit 2 sustained heavy damage to the front end, with damage to the bumper, hood, and radiator.
Garcia reported suffering from neck and chest pain, she was transported by medics to Valley Medical
Center for treatment.
Garcia had a passenger who was identified by his WADOL as Paul I. Condori (01/26/2008), who
reported neck pain. He was also transported by medics to VMC.
Based on the totality of the described circumstances, the proximate cause of the collision was
Thompson turning into the driveway at the location without adequately checking for oncoming traffic.
This location is on a curve with limited sight distance available. I used my discretion and did not issue
Thompson a notice of infraction for this incident.
