EG75039 CASE# 26-1017 DATE OF COLLI r�510NN + 02/04/26 15:33 L1 NARRATIVE 26-1017 On 02/04/2026, 1 was working uniformed patrol in marked Renton Police vehicle #B379 and wearing a jumpsuit with Renton Police patches on each shoulder as well as the words "Police" written on the front and back of my external vest. The below described incident is intended to be a summarized version of what was captured on Axon Body Camera. At approximately 1534 hours, I overheard Officer K. Petty had notified Dispatch that he had come across an unknown-if-injury and blocking vehicle collision in the 200 block of Southwest Grady Way, within the City Limits of Renton, County of King, State of Washington. At 1535 hours, I arrived on scene. I determined there were no complaints of injury requiring immediate medical response at the time of incident. While on scene, I collected the involved parties driving documents and their independent recollection of events leading up to the collision. The driver of Unit#1 stated he was the sole occupant of his vehicle and was attempting to exit a private property parking lot, located in the 200 block of SW Grady Way, and on the north side of the roadway. The driver of Unit#1 stated that he was intending to make a left turn out of the parking lot to proceed eastbound onto SW Grady Way following the turn. The driver of Unit#1 believed all traffic on SW Grady Way was clear and therefore proceeded out into the roadway. As Unit #1 proceeded out into the roadway, Unit#1 was met by another vehicle - Unit#2. The driver of Unit#1 claimed he did not see Unit#2 traveling. The driver of Unit#1 stated that he was unable to avoid the collision after having pulled out into the roadway and that Unit#2 struck the front quarter panel and wheel well of Unit#1, specifically on the driver's side, causing significant damage. The driver of Unit#2 said he and his unidentified adult passenger were traveling westbound in about the 200 block of SW Grady Way in lane 2 of 2. The driver of Unit#2 stated he was intending to continue west. Upon reaching the location of where Unit#1 was turning out from, Unit#2 observed Unit#1 pull out into the roadway. The driver of Unit#2 stated he attempted to avoid the collision but was ultimately unable to. Both vehicles collided in the roadway and Unit#2 suffered moderate damage to the front of the vehicle. Based on the above statements, I believe that the driver of Unit#1 (Segnane) is the proximate cause of collision as Segnane is required to comply with RCW 46.61.205(1) which states that every driver of a vehicle about to enter or cross a highway from a private road or driveway shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles lawfully approaching on said highway. I cite the driver of Unit#1 (Segnane) via mail for violating RCW 46.61.205(1) - Fail to Stop at Private Driveway/Road causing a collision. Unit#1 had to be towed due to extensive damage. Unit#2 was able to be driven away without further incident. An exchange of information was provided for all involved parties.
