ASSIGNMENT/ARRIVAL
On 02/13/2026 at approximately 1404 hours, I was dispatched to a two vehicle collision that
occurred at the intersection of Bronson Way N and Meadow Avenue N in the city of Renton, King
County, Washington.
I arrived at approximately 1406 hours.
UNIT 1:JEEP COMPASS
Upon arrival I observed a white Jeep Compass (WA/CKK8289) stopped facing north along the
east curb of Garden Avenue N north of Bronson Way N. Unit 1 had been moved from its point of
rest prior to my arrival. Unit 1 had minor damage to the front driver bumper and wheel.
UNIT 2: MITSUBISHI LANCER
I observed a gray Mitsubishi Lancer(WA/CNL4968) stopped behind Unit 1. Unit 2 had been
moved from its point of rest prior to my arrival. Unit 2 had minor damage to the front passenger
bumper and headlamp assembly.
DRIVER 1: SHAW, KENNETH A.
I contacted Kenneth A. Shaw(DOB: 12/24/1968) sitting in Unit 1's driver seat. I positively
identified Shaw by his valid Washington Driver License and established him as the driver of Unit
1 by his admission. Shaw was not injured in the collision.
DRIVER 2:WILKES, KIAYLAA M.
This incident occurred in the sCity of Renton,King County,Washington State.

I contacted Kiayla A. M. Wilkes (DOB: 06/21/2006) standing near Unit 2. 1 positively identified
Wilkes by her valid Washington Driver License and established her as the driver of Unit 2 by her
admission. Wilkes was not injured in the collision.
STATEMENT
I spoke with Shaw and Wilkes at the same time about the collision.The following is a summary
of their version of events, which they agreed upon.
Shaw drove Unit 1 south on Meadow Avenue N toward Bronson Way N.There is a stop sign at
this intersection for southbound Meadow Avenue N.
Wilkes drove Unit 2 west on Bronson Way N in the number two (closest to center lane)toward
Meadow Avenue N. There is no stop sign or traffic signal at the intersection with Meadow Avenue
N: Bronson Way N traffic has right of way.
Shaw slowly accelerated Unit 1 south into the westbound Bronson Way N lanes to make a left
(east)turn onto Bronson Way N. Shaw did not see Unit 2 approaching. Unit 2's front passenger
bumper collided with Unit 1's front driver bumper.
Wilkes saw Unit 1 slowly pulling into the intersection, but believed Shaw saw her approaching in
Unit 1 and would stop.
This concluded my conversation with Wilkes and Shaw.
PROXIMATE CAUSE
The proximate cause of the collision was determined by my conversations with Wilkes and
Shaw, as well as damage observed to both vehicles.
This incident occurred in the sCity of Renton,King County,Washington State.

Shaw's action was the proximate cause of the collision, namely his violation of RCW
46.61.185(1), which states:
The driver of a vehicle intending to turn to the left within an intersection or into an alley,
private road, or driveway shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle approaching from the
opposite direction which is within the intersection or so close thereto as to constitute an
immediate hazard.
CITATION
I authored Shaw a citation (#6A0174087)for the violation of RCW 46.61.185(1) and filed it with
the Renton Municipal Court.
DISPOSITION
Both drivers exchanged information.
This concluded my involvement in this case.
