LANDSCAPE COMPLIANCE & EXISTING CONDITIONS NOTE
TYPICAL PLANTER / LANDSCAPE AREA NOTE
All planter areas are existing and remain unchanged.
Each planter is fully contained within private property
limits and maintained per RMC 4-4-070 (Landscaping
Regulations) and City of Renton Landscape
Standard Details L-101 through L-104.
Planting composition includes low-maintenance
ornamental shrubs, small trees, and groundcovers
consistent with existing site character.
All planting beds are mulched with 3-inch minimum bark
mulch, with automatic irrigation coverage provided
through the existing system.
Vegetation is healthy and provides screening,
shade, and aesthetic continuity consistent with the
overall site landscaping.
Maintenance Requirements:
Maintain healthy plant cover, pruning, and mulch
depth.
Replace any damaged vegetation with equivalent
species and size.
Maintain 2' clear setback between planting edge and
vehicle overhangs.
Keep irrigation in working condition; drip or
low-flow emitters preferred.
This planter area contributes to the overall landscape
coverage and compliance documented in the
Landscape Compliance & Existing Conditions Note.
No new planting or grading is proposed.
This project is conceptual in scope and does not propose a new landscape installation.
All landscape areas and vegetation shown on this plan are existing and will be preserved in place.
The information provided herein satisfies RMC 4-4-070 (Landscaping Regulations) by documenting existing
square footage, location, and compliance with required landscape area ratios.

The interior parking lot island (135 SF) provides more than 5% of parking area landscaping, meeting the minimum interior
landscape requirement per RMC 4-4-070(F).
All landscape areas are located within private property limits, outside of City right-of-way, and will remain after future
sidewalk construction along NE 4th Street.
Landscape Composition Summary
Existing landscape materials consist of low-maintenance ornamental shrubs, groundcovers, and small trees
consistent with City of Renton Landscape Standards.
Typical species observed include:
Shrubs: Escallonia, Berberis, Hebe varieties
Groundcover: Vinca minor, perennial fescue blend
Trees: Flowering plum (Prunus cerasifera), ornamental cherry (Prunus serrulata)
≥ All vegetation is established and in good health, providing adequate buffering, screening, and aesthetic continuity
throughout the site.
All beds are mulched with 3-inch bark mulch, and an automatic irrigation system is operational across landscaped zones.
Fencing & Retaining Wall Note: No
All existing and proposed fencing shall comply with RMC 4-4-040 (Fences, Hedges, and Retaining Walls).
Fencing around the playground shall be 4-foot-high black vinyl-coated chain-link with steel posts at 8' o.c.,
powder-coated finish.
Perimeter fencing along property lines consists of 6-foot-high cedar wood privacy fencing in natural tone. All
materials are durable, weather-resistant, and visually compatible with existing site architecture.
Maintenance & Protection
Maintain irrigation, mulch depth (3" min), and healthy vegetative coverage in all planters. Replace
damaged vegetation with similar species and size.
Protect existing trees and NDZ vegetation with fencing during construction.
All maintenance and repair shall be per RMC 4-4-070(G) and City of Renton Landscape Standard Details L-101 through
L-104.
Final Statement:
This landscape plan documents existing compliant conditions and satisfies the requirements of the current site review.
No additional planting, irrigation, or grading work is proposed as part of this permit.
