HomeMy WebLinkAboutRE_ BT105-CRE-00046 RFI 00003 SS Grady Sewer Alignment Reroute to MH2252Good morning Hamidullah,
I have received some initial comments from our sewer and planning departments. See below and please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you,
Planning and development engineering comments: Regarding the art work installation and impacts, we still need a better understanding of the full impact to the artwork and plaza area
prior to making a determination and possibly engaging the art commission. Below is a screenshot from 2014 showing how the art and plaza look following installation and less weathered.
This is likely how the expectation for the restored product would look. As the picture shows, the flatwork is fairly intricate with large spacing joints so any affected panels would
need to the fully replaced.
Sewer comments: Generally, does not object to the proposed alignment. That said, there are a couple of things to watch for:
* Proximity to existing tower (see markup in attached PDF.)
* The proposed sewer is 16 feet deep.
* The depth of the foundation for the transmission tower is unknown (to us).
* Due to the close to close proximity to the transmission tower, the sewer main will need to be sleeved so the sewer main can be replaced without effecting the transmission tower.
* We believe the lid for MH6618 is buried. If the MH exists, the rim will need to be raised to grade since it is the closest adjacent downstream manhole.

Hi Mike,
We have received the subject RFI from the contractor proposing to reroute the SS Grady sewer alignment to connect at existing MH2252. This revision would eliminate the need to tie into
Grady Way, thereby avoiding lane closures and traffic control impacts during this portion of the work.
Our EORs are currently reviewing the RFI for technical feasibility. In the meantime, I wanted to share this with your team and request your input.
Please see the attached RFI for detailed information on the potential benefits and impacts.
This is a high‑priority item, and an expedited review is requested..
Thanks,
Hamidullah Asady, PMP, CCM
