Unless otherwise noted,the following occurred in the City of Renton, County of King, WA.
On 02-18-2026 at approximately 1812 hours I was dispatched to a collision at Rainier AVE S and SW 7th St.
I arrived and located unit 1 and unit 2 just west of the aforementioned intersection facing east in the left turn
lane to go north on Rainier AVE S. Unit 1 had sustained front passenger side damage. Unit 2 had sustained
driver side damage.
Both vehicles were operational and I requested them to relocate at a nearby parking lot.
The driver of unit 1 advised that he was making a left turn out of the parking lot situated at 20 SW 7th St and
indicated that the driver of unit 2 changed lanes into him.
The driver of unit 2 advised that he had established his lane position in the left turn lane when unit 1 made a
left turn from 20 SW 7th St and collided with unit 2,failing to yield the right of way to unit 2.
Both circumstances are plausible, however the damage I observed appeared to be more consistent with unit
2's account of the incident and I am led to believe that unit 1's failure to yield to unit 2 was the proximate
cause of the collision.
The driver of unit 1 failed to provide proof of insurance and was cited accordingly.
I provided each driver with an exchange of information.
