26-1317 Hit and run non-injury non-blocking collision

East African male in 50's, thin
Narrative:
On 02.15.2026 at 2142 hours, I called Mahogani A Watson DOB/ 03.18.1997 by phone regarding a
hit and run. The hit and run occurred at 2121 hours, on Whitman AVE NE just south of the
intersection with NE Sunset Blvd.
Watson told me that she was driving a red 2010 Kia Soul WA/CTY1939. This vehicle is registered to
her father, Lashon Watson. Watson told me that she turned south on Whitman AVE NE from NE
Sunset Blvd. There was a silver, gray, or tan sedan on her side of the street, which is undivided.
Watson stopped her car so the other driver could return to the correct lane and go around her.
Instead, the other car hit Watson's car with the driver's side bumper of his car. The suspect car hit the
driver's side quarter panel of Watson's car. Watson looked at the driver as he passed. The driver
didn't stop and headed north on Whitman AVE NE before turning west NE Sunset Blvd. Watson was
unable to get a plate of the other vehicle. No injuries listed at this time.
This incident occurred in the City of Renton, King County, Washington unless otherwise specifically
noted. During this incident I was equipped with body-worn camera which records both audio and
video. Portions of the incident were recorded. This report is merely a summary of the incident and is
not intended to be an exact transcription of the entire investigation or what may have been captured
with the recording system. During this incident I was wearing a department issued uniform jump suit
was marked with "Police" both on the back, and department patches on each shoulder of the
jumpsuit, as well as a Renton Police Velcro badge on my left chest. It would be immediately obvious
to any reasonable person that I was a Police Officer.
