' i - ..' A Message from Chief Schuldt ; I'm pleased to share the 2025 Report to the '' Community, highlighting our department's successes and challenges over the past year. • " Crime in Renton dropped significantly in 2025. Property crimes led the way, with car thefts Sworn down 42% and car prowls down 38%. Assaults Police fell 17%, and firearms assaults dropped 24%. Off IC@f S ` While this reflects a nationwide trend, our officers and detectives remain tenacious; they never give up on our community. Q We also have exciting new tools to fight crime, following the City Council's approval of a technology package. A new real-time tech center will use advanced tools to solve and respond to crimes, including a Drone as First Professional Responder Program that provides aerial intelligence before officers even Staff arrive on scene. Upgraded body cameras will offer instant translation to better serve non-English-speaking residents, and a DeDrone Rapid Response Trailer will detect and track unauthorized drones to safeguard public events. Together,these tools position Renton PD as a leader in public '4 safety innovation and reinforce our commitment to transparency and community trust. VOlunteers Staffing remains a challenge, but we're grateful the City Council authorized nine new positions for 2026, eight officers and one sergeant. We'll be re-energizing our recruitment efforts to find the best candidates. I believe Renton PD is among the finest departments in the region, and I look forward to welcoming our new members. /OUllt@@Y Hours —Chief Jon Schuldt • ' • • • • • - - • • • • - . • - • • • . - • - • - - - - • • • 1 Meet the _ _ Commanders • - - - ; ► • . ......,. , ,,, F - - Chandler Swain 3 ._. N $ -. . - South Patrol `.:.. A{ p --- - f- Commander y ` p`- 4.~ cswain@rentonwa.gov fa ` 425-430-7573 : z5 „ . . -- .,.K . . z 4 v . Denis Moynihan ,,;.,- y ` - F t{:u North Patrol ``<._{" N F „`, , 7 f C t-M, Commander 1P ,,,„" .`, a 5...,.: .. dmoynihan@rentonwa.gov 'p 'E s „' ; 9.;..... .,,, ,: : . . .. 425-430-7619 . , 9 . F `g : ' ` {.= w . k M 23 , ' - s .'- t p"' , .. ,. ... ,.. r . v° i ,,`"'' : . . . z i _ -I" r , . - , Daniel Figaro , _ .
