O1 CONDUIT SHALL BE INSTALLED AT LEAST 24" BELOW FINISHED GRADE.
OFOR TECH PYLON GROUNDING, TIE 25 FEET OF #4 19 STRANDED GREEN THHN COPPER GROUNDING
ELECTRODE (STRIPPED OF JACKETING) TO THE TECH PYLON FOUNDATION REBARS WITH TIE WIRES. LEAVE 2
FEET AT THE END FOR ATTACHMENT TO THE GROUNDING LUG ON THE TECH PYLON LEG. SEE DETAIL 2.
OTO PROTECT THE GROUND WIRE UNTIL THE SHELTER IS INSTALLED, PLACE THE 2 FT END OF THE #4
STRANDED BARE COPPER ELECTRODE INTO 1" RGS ELECTRICAL CONDUIT AS SHOWN IN DETAIL 3. SECURE 1"
RGS COUPLING IN PLACE. SEAL THE RGS CONDUIT/COUPLING WITH DUCT TAPE. CAP THE ASSEMBLY WITH A
3" PVC CAP AND FILL VOID WITH SPRAY -ON FOAM. TOP OF PVC CAP SHALL BE %4" BELOW THE FINISHED
CONCRETE GRADE.
OTHE #4 STRANDED BARE COPPER GROUND ELECTRODE SHALL BE ENCLOSED BY AT LEAST 2" OF CONCRETE
IN ACCORDANCE WITH NEC 250.52(A)(3) AND INSTALLED TO THE BOTTOM OF THE REBAR MAT.
OPRIOR TO INSTALLING TECH PYLON, CHIP AWAY THE Y4" CONCRETE COVER AND REMOVE THE 3" PVC CAP,
FOAM, AND ANTI -CORROSION TAPE. THEN PULL OUT THE #4 COPPER ELECTRODE. CONNECT THE N
ELECTRODE TO THE GROUNDING LUG INSIDE THE TECH PYLON LEG. TAKE EVERY PRECAUTION TO PROTECT r
THE GROUNDING WIRE AND NOT ALLOW DEBRIS TO ENTER CONDUITS. FILL THE VOID OF THE CHIPPED OUT
CONCRETE WITH HIGH STRENGTH GROUT AFTER EXTENDING THE CONDUITS TO THE NEMA BOX INSIDE THE

OCONNECT THE #4 WIRE TO THE STAINLESS STEEL 3/" STUD WITH A BURNDY YA4CTC38 (OR APPROVED V
EQUAL). CONTRACTOR SHALL CLEAN THREADS PRIOR TO INSTALLING THE #4 WIRE.
OCONNECT END OF GROUND WIRE TO REBAR WITH GROUND CLAMP BURNDY GAR644C-RB (OR APPROVED
EQUAL),
