HomeMy WebLinkAboutEnviro Meeting Minutes_02-27-26Sound Transit Renton Transit Center Environmental Weekly Meeting Minutes February 27, 2026, 10:00am Submittals Environmental Compliance Strategy Plan (Ashley submitting today) Air Pollution Control Plan – Complete Sanitary Sewer Authorization – Ashley to send application to Dan and Alyssa to route for Sound Transit contact info as the site owner. Trucking Plan (Ashley submitting today) Site Specific Waste Management Plan – In process with Shimmick EMP Spec 01-35-43.13 – Complete Discharge surface water plan – Revisions with Sound Transit Tree protection – submittal in review with Sound Transit Dewatering Plan – Status update? Open TESC Items ESAF sent to Ecology – Ashley working with Ecology on getting wet ink signatures vs. scanned signatures. Who is current signer under the permit for submitting DMRs? Ashley may need help submitting February DMR until Shimmick’s ESAF is approved. Shimmick and Encore had a call with Maria (Ecology) last Friday to introduce her to the project team and talk through the sampling and discharge expectations. Received email approval from Doug Howie (Ecology) for using chemical treatment for water treatment system – Routed to Eric S. Eric working on getting it uploaded and transmitted to Sound Transit Forward email to Alyssa Generator is on site, trying to pump water from one of the monitoring wells to use for the first batch treatment. Plan to sample on Tuesday. Status on Temp power for the treatment system? (Eric) Unknown Emergency response training for treatment system scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. Shimmick, Encore, and Watertectonics Need clarification on what happens if system goes into recirc mode for turbidity and pH issues, is there a warning or communications of treatment issues, not just water levels and rain fall. (Eric) Upcoming Schedule Asphalt berm currently being installed. Tree protection – pending approval by ST and Renton Install dewatering wells – 3/12ish Sewer work within main site on South end – 3/16ish Demo concrete and asphalt middle of site, stockpile on gravel – 3/13ish Sewer trench line, remove asphalt – 3/20ish Trenches capped with clean gravel until excavation occurs Full on demo and excavation starting May/June Work is starting on site, start at MH 3 and move North. TCPs need approval before ROW work starts. Open Items Alyssa – Safety training to attend? – Jim is doing training for Shimmick potentially 2/25, can be flexible Safety training scheduled for 3/4 at 8:00am Alyssa – Can we be open to move the Thursday meeting? Monday’s and Friday’s and Tuesday afternoons. – Ashley to coordinate with Shimmick and Eric on schedule. Weekly meeting changed to Friday’s at 10:00am at the project site.
