NARRATIVE
On February 26, 2026, at approximately 1728 hours, I was dispatched to a non-injury and non-
blocking two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Maple Valley Hwy and 140th Way SE, within the
City Limits of Renton, County of King, State of Washington.
Upon arrival, I contacted the involved parties and confirmed no injuries had occurred requiring
immediate medical response at the time of report. There, I collected the involved parties driving
documents and their independent recollection of events leading up to the collision.
The driver of Unit#1, identified as Ronan, said he was traveling westbound in about the 14100 block
of Maple Valley Hwy and approaching the intersection of 140th Way SE. Ronan stated he was
traveling directly behind Unit#2 and saw as Unit#2 was slowing for an upcoming turn. Ronan stated
that the driver of Unit#2 slowed faster than expected and attempted to stop his vehicle on time.
Ronan was unable to stop in time, so he subsequently collided with the rear of Unit#2 causing
significant damage to the front of Unit#1.
The driver of Unit#2, identified as Ravinder Singh, said he was the sole occupant of his vehicle and
also stopped in the left turn lane of Maple Valley Hwy at 140th Way SE. While Unit#2 was slowed to
a stop, Unit#1 collided with the rear of Unit #2 causing moderate damage to the rear of Unit#2.
Based on the above statements, I determined that the Driver of Unit #1 (Ronan) is the proximate
cause for the collision due to following too closely causing a collision.
I issued Ronan a Sector infraction for following too closely.
Unit#1 and Unit#2 were able to be driven away without further incident. An exchange of information
was provided to all involved parties.
