Narrative
This occurred in the City limits of Renton, County of King, State of Washington.
On 03-09-2026 1 was dispatched to a crosswalk sign down, (appearing to be damaged) in the 3000 Blk of NE
Sunset Blvd in Renton. I located the crosswalk sign at the crosswalk which is just south of NE 12th St, on NE
Sunset Blvd. The crosswalk sign is an electronic sign mounted on a heavy metal pole with a large concrete
base. It appeared to have been hit by a vehicle, damaging the sign and knocking it over. The sign was not
blocking the roadway, but in the median/crosswalk area. There was no other evidence around the area which
would indicate any suspect vehicle. After assessing the damage, I immediately drove to the Renton City Shops
and spoke with personnel at the shops, (Greg Ryan), who told me he recieved an email from a person who said
they were a witness to the damage of the crosswalk sign. The email identified themselves as, "Anjel VaWinkle",
with a phone number of PH#253-876-5986. 1 called the number and recieved voicemail. I did leave a
message. Greg Ryan said he would send someone to retrieve/repair the sign. I also submitted a "Origomi"
report for the damage to Renton City Property. At this time there is no further information.
