NARRATIVE
#26-1847
Unless otherwise noted, all events took place in the City of Renton, in the County of King, in the State
of Washington.
This incident was captured on my body worn video camera and in-car cameras. This report is a
summary of events that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events.
On 03/08/2026 at approximately 1502 hours I was dispatched to a non injury, blocking accident with
in the 200 block of S 2nd St in the city of Renton, King County, WA.
Unit#1 was a grey 2019 Jeep Cherokee with WA LIC BND6732 (VIN: 1 C4PJMDX3KD135186). The
driver of unit 1 was the sole occupant and was wearing their seatbelt at the time of the accident. The
driver stated they had a possible head injury from hitting their head during the accident. Renton Fire
responded to the scene and medically cleared them.
Unit#2 was a maroon 2010 Nissan Altima with WA LIC: CSF4418 (VIN: 1 N4AL2AP6AN450183). The
driver of Unit#2 was the sole occupant of their vehicle and was wearing their seatbelt at the time of
the accident. They did not require medical attention.
Roadway conditions were dry and clear at the time the collision occurred. Unit 2 was unable to
remove it self from the roadway and Banker's towing was dispatched to tow the vehicle.
Driver#1 of Unit#1 stated she was traveling west bound on S 2nd St on the south side of the road in
lane 2 next to the median. She missed her turn into Renton High School performing arts center and
though she was driving in oncoming traffic. She stated she got startled and made the first left she
could on to Whitworth Ave S. As she turned left, she collided with Unit#2 that was traveling next to
her in lane 1.
Driver#2 of Unit#2 stated he was in lane 1 against the curb of S 2nd St traveling west bound. He
stated he was going approximately 25mph when he got hit on the front right passenger side corner by
the vehicle next to him. He stated the vehicle next to him tried to turn in front of him and across his
vehicle.
Pictures of the collision were uploaded to Axon from my department issued cell phone.
Both drivers had valid insurance and an exchange of information was provided to each of them.
At the conclusion of my investigation, I determined that Unit#1 was the proximate cause of the
collision as she did not verify it was safe to make a turn on to Whitworth Ave S. She also crossed two
lanes of traffic to do so.
If Unit#1 would have ensured that all travel lanes were clear before proceeding with her turn then this
collision would not have occurred.
This concludes my report.
